The number one reason for bankruptcy in this country is medical bills.

We have massive poverty for a first world nation, yet we give tens of millions in aid to Israel, a country of prosperity and nuclear capacity.

We've engaged in internationally illegal wars; often.

We've engaged in torture.

Our infrastructure is a disaster.

We have less people literate in math and science than any other Western Nation, by double-digit percentages.

The average young person must go through incredible debt merely to become educated, a classic tactic of class warfare.

etc. etc.

Anybody who has any concern, love, respect, or care for this country strikes me as a sentimentalist living in a permanent state of disbelief. This country is finished. Best to just try to enjoy the ride, and not reproduce, as your spawn will feel the brunt of our collective national failure.

I saw it. It shows you just how corrupted our institutions are. Even Harvard and Yale, it's all bullshit. Economics degree from Harvard is garbage. Neo-Keynesian propaganda. They are all Fascist institutions. Education is nothing more than indoctrination to serve your corporate masters. I hate to say it, but the whole fucking country is rotted to the core.

I think it's hilarious that it was made by George Soros. Like, "Hey I helped rob you and now I'm going to make a movie showing how it was done and sell it to you." All the while masquerading around as a champion of the working class. :biglaugh:

America was founded on exceptional ideas. Once we completely abandoned the Constitution (1913) and became Fascist we lost all right to call ourselves exceptional.

Exceptionally stupid for ceding all power to a private banking cabal maybe? This is now our bed and we shall lay in it.

Did Uncle Scam build a bridge with my money? Fuck no. He bought a cruise missile and is too busy waging perpetual war to build a bridge.

I read a Reuters article that says the US is the only country that didn't curb military spending after the 2008 downturn. According to Reuters, we're still increasing.

Major General Butler had it right. "War is a racket." An enterprise conducted for the benefit for the very few banking elites at the expense of everyone else.

War, especially the American way, is game of financial conquest. They sell us different reasons to whip us into a frenzy to justify, but it's all bullshit.

General Butler defined a racket as an operation conducted where very few know the truth and everyone else is scammed. That's us. IMO, it's been that way for 100+ years unfortunately. I think the ride is almost over though. The revolutions in the Middle East is tantamount to revolutions on the periphery of the Roman empire preceding it's collapse IMO. Our colonies are in uprising. Unfortunately they can't eat anymore.

Lol, I've been watching Blankfein from Goldman Sachs testify before the senate committee. Carl Levin looks like he's gonna wrap his fingers around Blankfein's throat and Blankfein couldn't have a more innocent look on his face.

I saw an interview with the author of the latest GS book. In the interview, the author doesn't justify ripping people off but states there have to be losers in order to have winners. GS has been doing this for 150 years. The housing bubble would have caused GS to fold but... damn, us taxpayers bailed em out.

Instead of the USA fixing their own stuff they provide foreign aid to 3rd world countries, help re-building Afghanistan, Iraq, many parts of Africa etc.

They send foreign Aid to China, India, Pakistan (WTF???).

It`s not only the USA , in UK we have the same problem . In a real bad recession so the goverment reduce the allowances/monies for our Councils , Health Departments etc . This has resulted in public services like libraries/community transport for disabled/elderly care centres being closed , hospitals & ambulance being cut , the list goes on & on so what do the goverment do ?
Talk about giving $130million to Pakistan to help educate their kids coz apparently if they have an education they won`t grow up to be terrorists . WTF ? Does this mean that no terrorist has a brain ? my guess is that some of these sick bastards are very clever & probably got more brain than some of these twats in goverment .

Thing is Both Pakistan and India have Nuclear weapons.

They
(claim not to have) money to feed their own people because they are spending it in part on?

See above.

Maybe they should set their priorities straight.

Such as the US should.

yes this is something I have mentioned in another thread...

I can't put too much energy in caring about other countries problems... I have people in my area who talk about helping other countries, going on some volunteer trip to go build houses and help villages lol

they should come see what's going on in the poor neighborhoods of our city

still I think we should be aware of what's going on in the world... human rights watch and stuff like that

and yes... most shit that's built isn't made to last, enslavement

the only way i see thing getting better in this country is if the we the people start to team up and start making real changes. we've all sat back and trusted the government and the system for way to long and it's getting so obvious that they just stealing our money and running this great country into the ground.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think a lot more people need to become self sustained.

68% of the corporations based in the US pay no taxes.

No single statistic is a comprehensive indicator of tax disparity.

Anybody here get 1920s US history in high school? We're on our way back.

How much do you want to bet that those corporations are ran by the government?

This is a good video. US Banana Republic A.

Phil Angelides Discusses America's Dual Justice System: One For Wall Street And One For Everyone Else
Lisa Murphy of Bloomberg interviewed the chairman of the now defunct FCIC, Phil Angelides to discuss the findings presented yesterday by Carl Levin. The topic was the "greased pig" that is Wall Street. The conclusion is that America now has a dual justice system: "One for ordinary people and then one for people with money and enormous wealth and power." As for crime deterrents, considering that to this day not one person has gone to prison, even an idiot can foresee what Angelides has to say on this issue: "To the extent laws were broken, we need deterrents. If someone robs a 7-11, they took $500 and they were able to settle the next day for $50 and no admission of wrongdoing, they'd knock over that 7-11 again. And we've seen time after time where people and firms have made tens, one hundreds, billions of dollars. They've settled charges for pennies on the dollar. At Citigroup for example they represented that they had $13 billion of subprime mortgage exposure when they really had $55 billion. The penalty to the chief financial officer who made $19 million that year, 2007, was $100,000. Goldman was fined $500 million but the date they settled their stock moved up $2 billion. There's been no real consequence." Too bad there is no acknowledgment that it is people like Angelides who through their corrupt behavior over the years allowed Wall Street to singlehandedly usurp the democratic process and replace it with that of a fascist corporatocracy. But that's irrelevant: at some point, sooner or later, the American peasantry will snap. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not the day after the Apple borg hypnosis ends, and the fascination with American Idol expires, but at some point thereafter, absolutely. And the primary reason will be the glaring trampling of the tenets contained in both the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, by the kleptocratic "superclass." Then what happens when the billions of ones and zeros held in some bank vault and imparting some ephemeral monetary greatness to these people, finally is exposed for the sham it is, and they have nothing to protect them from the hordes of hungry, angry and very well armed? We can only hope they will be able to bribe their way to the top in that world order as well as they can in the current one. Somehow we doubt it.
Nothing has changed. Nor likely will it. The moral hazard has been institutionalized. Failed State.
