slower outdoor growth?

update- - instead of making a new thread ill continue to post in here

how fast do outdoor plants grow compared to indoor? I put a couple clones outside in the woods about 3 weeks ago. One is showing some intense preflowers. Both seem like they should be bigger by now compared to a 3 week old indoor. P.S. the clones were kept real small for about 2 months if that means anything. Also, one is in a 1gal pot the other in a 3 gal. They get full sun after 1pm for the rest of the day.

Full sun from 1pm to sunset. In my area that is like maybe 5 good hours of light a day at the moment, that would explain slow growth compared to indoors. This depends where your located. But the sun is not at it's most intense right now. Depending on where you are, you should see growth pick up in the coming weeks as growing conditions improve.

the plants were never hardened off thats why there in pre flower right now and are stressed they will snap out of it and will grow alot faster when this stress is over in liek a weeks time easy on the nutes less is more

I agree with both of the above posters and would like to add that temperatures are likely cooler then optimal too. I know cool temps and much rain seem to have slowed my starts as well. I just have to remember its really pre-outdoor season now. Our patience will be rewarded.

Just want to say thanks and add some answers. :tiphat:

I tried to find the best spots but thats all I can get in some woods with lots of trees.

no nutes yet other then a light watering of "growbig" cuz of yellowing on one if them. Actually haven't even watered them they have been kept moist with rainfall.

Thanks, this could also explain why my tomatoes, peppers and corn are slow and a lot of them actually died. Onion, radish, cabbage and lettuce all did wonderfully. BTW I'm in PLANTING ZONE 8a

i agree what everyone said. and depends on ur strain too

White Label's Double Gum. On the Cheaper side of a strain but I also have some Sweetest Cindy 99, Blue Satellite and Sam the Skunkman mixed seeds x Haze/skunk#1. But those are for indoor times :)

They have grown a lil bigger but not much, and they are still flowering and gettin bigger flowers goin, new branches just now developing. also, i planted 20 seeds maybe a little over a week ago and not one came up yet, this is prolly not normal. I removed some of the soil to see whats goin on and It's like only some stem. maybe they popped up and something ate them i donno. i have 10 more ill try again.

Cannabis needs 70 degree soil to grow well and likes 75. Do you have a meat thermometer? I stuck mine in the ground yesterday and im at 66 so Ill be planting next week. Temperature wise, i could have planted 2 weeks ago but my plants wouldnt have grown very much . I also avoid mulching in early spring because it actually prevents the soill from warming around the plant. I wait until mid may to mulch.

Plus, at 38ish, my daylenght is still 13.5 which is a little low. Next week it will be climbing towards 14 which is better.

Temperatures is what I was thinking. Especially the night times. Won't kill them but will slow things to a crawl.
