Does Liquid Kool Bloom work?

So I have been growing a couple years now with GH 3 part Flora mix. I have always grown decent sized main colas and side flowers. However my last two grows I have tried to add the Liquid Kool Bloom during flowering. It says it is made to go with the flora mix and to add it through the entire flowering and ripening phase. But my last grow was pathetically small and this grow so far is looking great on side flowers but the main cola is almost nothing. I just don't get it. Has anyone else used this stuff? And if so did it work? I may have other issues going and I need to rule out as many possibilities as I can.

Do you use the liquid as directed in the feeding schedule or as directed on the bottle? I use the liquid and the powder just love the results !

Are you sure there's not some other factor screwing with things? I am only on my first hydro grow but I'm using maxibloom, floralicious plus, and liquid koolbloom and so far things are looking good at day 32 of 12/12

I use it with good results now... but have never done a comparison with the same strain kool bloom/non kool bloom. Once this bottle is through I'm going to try the powder.

For whatever it's worth, I don't think the powder and the liquid are meant to be alternatives to eachother. The liquid is supposed to be used mid-flower, and the powder is a PK booster to be used in the last couple weeks of flower. Right?

Well, I'm just using rez's revised recipe. Old recipe was liquid, new one is powder. His recipe has always worked for me. Simple and effective

Don't know what the bottle says..I use the stuff all the time but I've never read the label lol. We use 1ml/gal in early bloom to help initiation then once stretch stops 100ppm of kb goes in the rez day 15 on 25 100ppm and at day 35 100ppm...The stuff will really adds to your bud density and size. You have to be dang careful tho this stuff will burn the nickers off your girls if you use too much. It sounds like you have problems with your grow why not tell people how you are growing and ask for some advice lots of good people here to help.

Yeah I'm using 10mL/gal of the stuff and my buds are really nice. I start off with 5mL/gal at week 3 and keep it rocking until week 7...pretty much like everyone else. I've never had any burning issues either. My plants eat it up. I'm going to replace the Liquid Koolbloom with Dyna-Gro Mag-Pro soon as I think it has a better ratio for my plants.

There may be several other factors. First in my last grow I got complacent and stopped checking my water pH and recently discovered the Kool Bloom had made it massively acidic. Also in my last grow I made the mistake of shining a flashlight on it a couple times at night DOH!

This grow I am using an all new strain (Island Sweet Skunk) that I have never worked with and to start the flowering off I had screwed up when moving my fan and had it blowing air in rather than sucking it out of the cool tube on my HPS so as they got taller they ran into heat issues for a week or so before I discovered the problem. And it wasn't until about 4 weeks into flowering I discovered the pH issue and am adding pH Up to stabilize it. So both attempts could have been screwed up by other issues. Neither are complete failures just not anywhere near what it was like before.

I am going to chalk this up to user error and tell myself to be more careful from here on always keeping an eye on heat and water pH. BTW I use the full 10 ml of Kool Bloom per gallon from the first sign of flowers. The bottle recommends 5-10 ml per gallon through the entire flowering and ripening phase. And to balance that out to a pH around 6.5 I need to add 8 ml of pH Up per gallon. It must be super acidic.

Running ISS?? Me too! I'm also using GH 3 part with floralicious plus, liquid kool bloom, and powder AN Big bud

Can you post up some pics of your ISS? I'd love to compare

Here are mine, I think this was at day 33

I had a similar problem with heat where all the colas were crap and all the lower ones were only half way decent. some even threw nanners and seeds. I couldnt figure out what the problem was until i hit the button on the temp reading thing and it says the highest temp in there was almost 100 degress. this went on for about a week maybe even two, while i was out of town, the damn thermostat wasnt kicking on the exhaust fan at night when it got up to 79 in there so. Im guessing you had a few issues, heat being one of them, Im using GH 3 part and florolicious with Koolbloom on a seperate project and things are looking okay.

Other than that... just like any other additive... unless you use it, the yield will be crap... and the more you use, the bigger it will become... and the more it costs, the cooler it is. x2 of the label is always a good idea too... ;-)

Goddamn, I hope your joking. IMO, the liquid Kool Bloom is useless. You can get basically the same effect by just doubling your FloraBLoom (the pink shit). However, GH uses cheap ass rock phosphates in their P formulations, so using GH's booster will lead to more heavy metals and impurities in your buds, and also your rez will be less pH stable. Look into Pure Flowers, or someone even mentioned AN Big Bud powder, the only good product AN makes, IMHO. Get off the GH boosters and you will notice a difference in flavor. GH FloraMicro + MgSO4 + Botanicare PBP works pretty good! If you are gonna use KoolBloom, use the powder, at about 1/4-1/2 the recommended amount, and use it a few weeks earlier. Use it to control stretch early on if need by, like in the 2nd week of bloom if they are stretching too hard, give em some KB at 1/4 strength and reduce the base nutes accordingly. On a ten week strain, I would use it from week 3 or 4 and not past week 6, adjust accordingly with how long the strain runs. Oh, and a loooooong flush please! I want to see some potassium curl.

In actuality, the common PK ratio used by most nutrient manufacturers is made for commercial fruit agriculture, not flower production. Cannabis has its own nutrient requirements and actually needs more trace minerals, an early K spike, w/o much P, more silica, more calcium, and clean mobile sources of nitrate nitrogen. Also look into using phosphites instead of phosphates for your sources of P in bloom, they tend to flush much cleaner out of the final product.

Yep, this is how I do it as well. The source of the nutrient is key, reason why some nute manufacturers are better than others. Application and timing are also very important. Using a clean source of K early is essential to end yield. The goal being that K is slow moving through the plant, so you have to be careful to use sparingly and early, cut K after week 5 or you'll never be able to fully flush your flowers.
Nitrogen is also necessary throughout flower, and the source us absolutely key. Nitrate nitrogen is used fairly quickly by the plant, and flushes out easily. Avoid ammoniacal nitrates unless you like piss tasting buds. And urea nitrogen is the worst, in many ways.

In all tho, nothing replaces an active rhizosphere. Keep those bennies happy, and they will provide the plant with a diverse food source, making it easier to feed less and achieve the results you're looking for.

To the OP, yes Liquid Kool Bloom works, but the dry is better. Used the dry for years, and no matter how long the flowers were flushed, I can still taste it, unmistakable, course you get this with all boosters to a certain degree, just gotta find the one that works for you.

ISS is a small nug plant. No huge colas. If it's the same strain, I had SIS (sweet island skunk). Long flower time as well around 70+ days to get anything worth a damn to smoke. Mine smell of pine and black ground pepper. How does your strain smell? I am the only one around my parts who had this strain to my knowledge, so I had no real comparison to go off of.

I discontinued this strain do to it's smaller size and flower time.
