Nice bean selection GanjaD. From one bean collector to another, respect.

This bad weather should pass soon.

Trying to put clones outside under sup lighting in hoops but the weather keeps messing with me. Woke up to snow and my two clone hoops collapsed. I used 3/4 inch pvc on them. Good thing my seed hoop was 1 inch pvc or i'd be so pissed right about now.
Got some big nice females from seed with happy strong green growth.
Anyway, had some help and got the clone hoops rebuilt with 1 inch pvc. Hoping to put clones out early next week with 16 hrs light.
Getting my custom soil mix ordered and blended over next few days and should have the first load next week. This soil mix is going to be perfect.
I'll put some pictures up at some point but I lost my camera charger and I'm way too busy. It's going to be a crazy year of lot's of sour and kushes and way too many amazing strains to keep track of. Hoping to unwind and relax at some point in the near future and take in everything I've done over the last year and few months. The reason I grow is to have the most elaborate head stash in the world...lol.
Happy smoking and growing guys.
By the way,I may be addicted to starting seeds and collecting more clones than I can responsibly keep in the stable.
Peace.

Hey ganja d i just put up a hoop house to get all my plants ready for the season i also have supplemental lighting im gonna use.. What time do you turn your lights on and off at for your babies?

What soil mix are you using Ganja?

It's a custom mix a private company is making and mixing for me.
I'll list the ingredients later. It's mostly a peat based compost with a bunch of amendments of my choosing. I'm building it lite enough to plant in right away but it will be a rich living organic soil with tons of great stuff to promote healthy roots and plants.

Hei! Read you are going to do some breeding. Im also think about doing that. Are going to sow some seeds this year from last years females, a few differents strains. Had very few seeds last year, so gene are from only one female and one, two and three fathers. This where not only F1, some of this lines have been breed for years..... So the stuff Im wondering about: What happens when you have a scenerio with this and breed with this line for years, with a much larger population this year and the year to follow? See you also are going to have very few males. Have read a quite some about breeding but cant really find answer if the following generations is going to have some inbreed depression or other negative symptons.

Look forword to some work next week, be thinking about this "vacation" of mine a long time now.

Good night:)

whooaa just spent like 2-3 hours....read the whole thread. Ill be watchin this one for sure, those crosses sound pretty epic.

The toking and growing thing is so true, for things that require the brain anyways, ive had my fair share of fuck-ups as well! I only smoke when i need to get motivated. For tough physical labor there is nothing better for me, than to over medicate with a mind racing sativa. it gives me just enough paranoia to totally forget about the pain im in carrying bales through the woods.

Its a late blooming spring this year on the east coast, still dealing with snow over here for christs sake! If theres one thing for certain you dont miss about the northeast, it must be the cold shitty weather ey ganjad?

Made the hoops wider this year. Made a few other improvements as well. Big spliff of SFV OG x Chemdog pheno#4.

Planting lot's of goodies tonight on the new moon. Lot's of stuff I made last year too, including seeds from a 10 pound Fuzzy Mist(Sequoia mist) that I crossed with a male SSSDH. I tracked down the real breeder of the mist and gave him some seeds. He's also got a purple mist and a fall mist.
Happy growing friends.

Great shots, feels like you're holding a baby gorilla in the first pic.

GanjaD, that's a drag. Sounds like you're using 20' lengths? I cribbed a lot of my hoophouse tek from you and HL, but I noticed that you guys didn't use the Ts or crosses, you just duck-taped the spine to the ribs. Dude, I'm wondering if you are using those long lengths and if it's bending them all the way in half that puts so much stress on 'em. If you use two 10' lengths, each one only has to bend into about a quarter-circle.

Am I right about that?

Also, what kind of plastic are you using? I got this disappointingly thick opaque 6 mil stuff where you can't even see anything distinctly through it. Nice and tough, but less light.

I'm thinking we're past the last frost, though we'll have a few days into the 30s in the next week.

I hope you didn't lose too many of your clones in the collapse.

Yo GanjaD, see you're doing rather swell thus far.

Was hoping you could give me a few pointers (as if you aren't busy enough, I'd uber-appreciate it though..like I'll give 500 dollars to the charity of your choice come end of ((a successful)) season, swear on my mommas grave!)

Anyways, onto the billion dollar questions.

1.) Assuming I'm shooting for a ~4ft radius on my plants, what size smartie would you recommend? I was thinking 100 gal's would do the trick, whatcha reckon? I'm down w/ trying to get away w/ less or more...just was my estimate. I'm planning on doing around 25 plants..and I'd prefer to stay on the smaller side. Basically on a 60' x 60' plot, and figure 25 on about 8' centers seems legit. Meaning 8' diameter, 4' radius plants.

2.) I was thinking of having something from http://www.grabngrowsoil.com/pProduct%20List.htm delivered...they're local, have organic offerings...etc. Anyways whatchu think about maybe choosing one of these offerings:

Organic Garden Mix $40.75 yard • $9.75 bag

We start with a finished portion of our Tango Mulch Compost and add sandy loam soil, 1/4- Fir bark, crushed red lava rock and a little soil sulfur to adjust the pH. The very high hummus content of the soil is just the thing for a bountiful "raised bed" vegetable garden. Just put it in your bed and watch everything grow! Also recommended for 1/2 barrel planting.
Tango Mulch Compost is an organic compost made with a blend of green waste and grape pomace fertilized with oyster shell flour, bone meal, blood meal, kelp meal, Dolomite 10, greensand, soil sulfur pellets and Azomite. Good for landscaping and vegetable gardening. This is our manure free alternative to our most popular Mango Mulch Compost.
MANGO MULCH $45.00 yard • $11.50 bag

Mango Mulch is our most unique and famous product. Listed by th e(OMRI) for use in organic production. Its ingredients are like no other commercial compost and our composting process ensures that the finished product stands alone. Its fine even texture, rich black color and powerful supply of nutrients along with a bountiful array of beneficial bacteria and micro-organisms are essential for your soil’s health and vitality. Mango Mulch Compost has been used successfully by organic farmers and professional gardeners for years. Try it yourself and experience the unique taste and quality of organically grown fruits and vegetables. It doesn’t have any mangos in it, but it does have horse and cow manure to supply basic nutrients; grape and apple pomace which are high in beneficial bacteria and yeasts to aid with the breakdown of organic matter; rice hulls and straw for good soil tilth; soft rock phosphate and greensand to boost the phosphorous and potassium.
And then cutting it w/ some extra perilite and a bunch of old coco laying around from other projects...maybe toss in a good bit of peat moss? If I went the mulch I reckon I'd have to cut it pretty hard, it's basically just balling compost I believe.

I'm just trying to get into the world of soils, been an indoor hydro guy for living in MN for some time..suddenly I've found myself in sunny CA w/ a nice little plot of land. Figured you'd be a good cat to ask. I was considering an amended coco, even posted asking about such a thing...but the more I think about it the more I really REALLY wanna go organic. I mean, fuck it...I'm already most of the way there being under the big ol' light in the sky right? Plus the idea of hundreds of bags of coco seems lame...I like a dumptruck, that sounds like alot more fun right? Billions of billions of little microbes all slaving on my pot farm for me...:jump:

Anyways, I'd really appreciate your help amigo :tiphat:

Like I said in an earlier post, keep up the crazy good work. I dig your style. Bigtime props

Guide me o wise one :D

Whats new ganja d? waitin on another awsome picture update!

I left my camera charger in a backpack that I lent to a friend.
I've got a bunch of clones out under greenie hoops with sup light. Bunch of Mr.Nice vegging strong in 5 gals and a bunch of other stuff.

All the seedlings I planted on the last new moon are looking great. Problem is there's so many of them and so many strains. I'm pretty excited but at the same time I'm going to be a little overwhelmed keeping track of each individual plant and choosing what to clone and test indoors/keep. I have about 30+ strains from seeds and about 15+ strains from clone with multiple pheno moms of 2 of the strains(I'm running 4 clones of SFV OGK X Chemdog and 9 more plants of it from seed to hopefully find a suitable male and more exciting and unique females.)
I'm really hoping the Sensi Seeds Durban turns out to be what I'm hoping it could be.

My first soil delivery should be here late this week. Here's my soil mix without the amounts.

Compost made from wheat straw, peat moss, green waste, wood humus, ash, feather meal, cow manure, rice hulls, mushroom compost, and grape humus. The compost is being made 40% peat moss. It's some bomb stuff. I was impressed when I saw the sample. I looked at 3 other custom composts before I saw this stuff. It's great, fresh smell,no ammonia. It's been tested andph is 6.8-7.3,just a tad high.
The compost is blended with:
Lime
Oyster shell
Gypsum
Chicken Shit (fresh from an organic chicken farm and composted for 60 days)
Worm Castings(12,000 pounds)
Guanos
Perlite (lots of perlite)
Kelp
Azomite powder
Glacial Rock dust
Humates
It's crazy. The only thing I wish I added is Alfalfa but oh well. It's basically my dream soil. Once it gets here I'll transplant some clones into it to test and check the ppm of the run off. It should be light enough to plant in right away the way I designed everything. Assuming it's all good I've got some huge seed plants I planted in Feb ready to get put in 200 gallon smart pots as soon as I can get them filled. Those consist of Mr.Nice SSH,DGS Swt #3 X C99 and Banana OG X C99,Rez Double Strawberry Diesel (seeds from 2007,5 females 3 males),Satori,Atomic NL,and Rez SD and Sour Queen VI. Can't wait to get those girls in 200's and put males into 10 gal pots. I'm really impressed with the SSH so far, some wonderful amazing smells from a good stem rub.
I'll try to get that camera charger back.
Hope everyones doing great and smoking well.(or doing well and smoking great)
Peace.

Sounds great, man. I'll be lurking and learning. That mix sounds like the bomb, very similar to my strat-o-mix... :D Wish growin' was legal here, but no such luck. I've got to be super super careful. Hoping for great weather and a good crop - for all of us.
