around here, Very unique smell and taste, and of course the BUZZZZZ!!! Co-ops want it, because they have tried it, it has a purple/pink hue color to the budz......:jump: Here's a pic

I do not wish to fuel the fire, but Chimera is absolutely correct regarding the heritage of NL et al.
I know he can come off as harsh, but rest assured he has the community's best interests at heart-Even if his delivery can be off-putting to some at times.
He's due a lot of respect, and his history with cannabis is decades long and FAR out dates internet chat rooms and forums.
I have tons of respect for Chimera even though we have crossed up many times over the years, and I urge you to see through his, again, sometimes harsh delivery, and see that his interest is in educating, not arguing, and it's all for the betterment of the plant-And the grower.

Thanks All!

I p.m'ed him about the 86" Northern Lights #1
REv got some supposed '86 NL beans and after growing them out said they were wannabe's. Not saying the same stock you're talking about. They looked real while growing but apparently, upon smoking, were from a latter generation and watered down by poor selection.

as for sotfs beans being untested its not like they some crazy ibl or femm project where herms are gonna pop up... he took some prize studs and hit some prize bitches im sure he'll germ test them if he dont eatem all.. im also sure he will go and putt some into good hands earlier then they drop if they do ,,

86" Northern Lights #1 and not only did he school me on the history but he also sent me a couple of those fricken huuuuuuuuuuuge beans

Yet another trait that SPG shares with NL. :good:

Nice NL leaf pic stoney! :respect:

picture.php

This very Indica dominant Swt plant had barely any stretch either and quite similiar stems & leafs. Had two just like it actually, very short & stocky. If SPG has no NL in it well I must say it sure fooled me! ;)

picture.php

Bogglegum (NL#5xBubblegum) from BOG also gave me some very Indica looking NL type plants in the past although that was from the old BOG stock. :joint:

NL # 1, 2, 5 YUM!

:tiphat:Hi All!! Yes NL is an old school delight......:) Ordered some back in 1986/87, guess... from u know who....anyway, still have those beans, and some still do sprout!!!:) They cross pollinated with everything that was grown from The Seed Bank, and SSSC, that leaf structure is NL for sure...:dance013: I sure miss that strain that's not very popular, compared to all the newer strains these dayz, I think it's making a Comeback, I sure hope so.....:dance013: later

NL#5 is a true classic and belongs to the four pillars (NL#5, SK#1, Blueberry and Haze) of Cannabis today.

Love that juniper/grape goodness!

Just finished reading this whole thread. WOW.
Only came here because a Ginormous NL#1 male pollinated my room
a few months ago, and I just finished picking out just under 10k seeds of 5 varieties.
Picking NL seeds sucks, and so does fighting about NL.
I feel bad for the OP. He only wanted to know where to find some Old School NL.
Ah well.

So what are the crosses? Hopefully you'll get some good ones!

Grab them , then, especially if they are cheap. I believe Sensi Seeds charges $225 for ten.
It is some of the best herb you will ever smoke, and stealthy because of low odor.

That's the truth over 20 years later and this strain is still up there with the best. I have 2 mature adult females and 6 seedlings of this going right now, I hope to find the trippy hazy pheno that I used to run in the late 80's early 90's

This is the description from the 89 Seed Bank catalog

"Due to tremendous customer demand, we have spent years searching for a superb Sativa/ Indica hybrid that is suited for indoor growing but still retains the unique sativa qualities in the high. The Haze X NL#5 hybrid is the result of this search. A note of warning: Adverse effects have been known to occur among inexperienced smokers, particularly when combined with alcohol. Side effects may include nausea, dizzyness, fainting and loss of bowel and bladder control. Extreme introspective behavior is considered normal"

Man was she good

Oh wow what a thread

So how does Female seeds version of NL comapre in all of this?
i only ran 1-4 pack myself.kept the most indica leaning pheno out of the four, the other 3 where very sativa leaning, super stretchy but very frosty.the 1 i kept is a classic christmas tree shaped plant, does not like topping at all and has very little stretch in flower.i'm kind of bad with smells and flavors but people i've shared my keeper with say that lemon and pine are strong with it,smells like some sort of plastic/cleaner type deal to me though.all smelled and tasted and stoned exactly the same to me so they are at least somewhat consistent. i personally wasn't very impressed with any of them but alot of what i've tried hasn't got to me i think because i have a pretty high tolerance but others that have smoked what i grew of fms nl have said it was great, all 4 phenos.so it may just be me.not bad for the price and if you find lifebreather's super frosty pheno i'm sure you'd be happy with it,thats what got me to buy the 4 pack. given the price i'd say you can't go wrong with it but i've never had any other nl so i can't say how it stacks up to a traditional or old school nl.and again,i only ran the 1-4 pack

Thanks for the honest feedback. I also grabbed a just a single pack after seeing the super frosty pheno, but beyond that i was curious what the packs could offer.
