net dry vs line dry

I dont like to nets because a little bit of trichs always stick to the netting, some type of metal screening might be better. Another thing I dont like about lay drying is buds is they seem to flatten or compress a bit while they dry, which might be a good thing if you have airy buds. I like to hang dry with the leaves on then do a dry trim.

Both. Plants get cut, large fans removed, and hung from string for a few days before trimming. After the trimming is done, they get laid on screens.

I prefer hanging because if you put the product on a screen you will lose some trichs.

I use a box with drawers lined with hardware cloth (heavy metal mesh) and a top fan w/ carbon filter. Carbon cuts down both the odor (which can be prodigious with some varieties) and fan speed, slowing drying time to between 8-10 days before they're jar cured. Box has both intake & exhaust filtering for dust.

I did have a decent amount of both flattening & sticking when using a much finer mesh in the setup previously. I don't care about how the buds look when they come out, but the sticking was bothersome to me.

Hang what I can hand trim by a big branch ... popcorns and lower buds that go through the machine get a net dry.

No question that laying the buds on anything rather then just hanging them on the stem is going to cause more harm to them. No question that the tiered dry nets can save much more space than hanging lines as well though.

Nets here, less handling when dried. If you hang hole plant or even big branches you have to get the bud of, and I don't like to handle it to much when dried.

I final trim first, then hang the bigger buds and leave the smaller ones on the net. After they're dry enough to go into the jars, I can scoop them up with a lid from a large kitty litter container. The opening from the litter container fits perfectly into the mouth of the jar and nothing falls out.
