A backup of rootballs. A good problem to have?

What's your best way to dispose of soil after harvest time, ex. city dump, random place out in the desert, etc.? Taking into account being 'green' and more importantly, security. Thanks in advance for all who reply.

I spread my used coco out in the yard and garden. Live in the woods so no worries. Roots and stalks usually go through the chipper for mulch.

Thanks for you input DevilWeed! Living in the sticks is definately a plus. I, however, live in the middle of a desert, so nothing but rocks around in the yard; lame.

I reuse most of my soil, as much as I can shake/beat out of the rootball. Then there is a lot less mass to deal with. Then I let them dry out real good and run them over with the mower. If you do this, make sure you re-amend the soil, if you amend your soil first of all.

Thanks Sam for your advice. Ill look into the reusing soil thing.

I recycle my soil as well. Rootballs get composted. Just be damn sure you have a "clean" grow as pests & disease will propagate readily through used soil if they're present in the grow it comes from.

geopolitical: Currently researching the reusing situation, thanks. But to be quite honest, I love the simplicity of store bought ready soil; roots organic. Results have been surprisingly pretty good.

i dispose of my soil by shaking all of it loose from my rootball and putting it back into a duoble layered garbage bag i keep my soil in, then i add a little lime and a spritz of water then i mix it up and put it back in the closet to cook. the roots and shit i usually just throw out with my trash. i only grow micro so its not like im throwing away a huge dumpster full of roots and leaves. the leaves i keep and dry then either smoke during rough times or use em to make oil or budder.
