Greenhouse safety, A few questions.

I was going to ask this in the greenhouse section, but I decided that since it was a safety issue, I might as well post it here.

Ok guys, here is the situation. A friend who owns a commercial greenhouse is tearing down an older greenhouse and replacing it with a larger one. He offered me the old greenhouse for free. I believe the dimensions are 100' long x 25' wide x 10' tall. HOWEVER, this can be assembled much smaller. How large do you think is safe to go? I grow tons of veggies, and fruits and I'll be growing them in there as well. How large of a greenhouse could I assemble on personal property without making people suspicious?

I know there are lots of variables that effect the safety of the setup, but I live outside of the city, and do not often see people near my property. My only real concern is, if someone does see it, how big is ''to big''?

Does anyone have an opinion for me? You are more than welcome to tell me I'm stupid and I shouldn't worry about something like this. I just need to cover my butt before I set this up.

could be risky then for sure... it would be nice though. i guess if i were going to do it id cut it down to 50ft long at most

It also depends how remote your property is. I had just 6 plants in my 75' greenhouse and you could smell it 100 yards away.

I would try to conceal it or make it appear not quite so big with plants around it, so that anybody on the ground would not get a sense of exactly how big it is (or if it was there at all) without being right up on it. Large trees, shrubs, and bushes around it should make it less noticeable. Obviously you won't be able to hide it from a helicopter so no sense in attempting to.

I would say it also depends on how big your house and any other buildings on your property are. I wouldn't want to exceed the footprint of the primary residence. If you were on a farm-type rural property with like a large barn or other off-buildings around it may not be so bad if you had it larger though.

In general anytime anyone sees a greenhouse they for the most part assume that someone is growing pot plants in it. A low odor stealth strain hidden deep in the middle amongst some legitimate legal plants would be your best bet and maintain good security and prevent anyone from having access to it other than yourself. Fences, gates, locks, dogs the usual.

Keep all prying eyes out and nosy people too far away to be able to see or smell anything in the first place and definitely keep your plant numbers very low if you are in a non med state. Get twisty tie-on colored silk flowers to further conceal plants from aerial view if that applies. Be safe! :canabis:

I think it depends on what else you are doing in your yard. If you are growing mad flowers, trees, veggies, shrubs outside and have a lot of them around the perimeter of the greenhouse, and have odor control, and are not near any neighbors, then go for it. Otherwise, I don't know. The best thing to do is hide in plain site. If you have all kinds of things going on at your home that are green and not pot-related, you'll probably be ok. More information would help people give you better advice, however.
