i grow with botanicare an in hydro. 2 weeks be for harvest i give just plain tap water not even ph and my bud wont be totaly flushed? i dont get it,but it taste bad and wont burn in a joint at all. What you think about it
why is my bud not flushed?

I flush for 24 hours with final flush. Then 10 days plus with ph'd water. Try a water cure on some of your bud ( put some in a jar cover with water couple hours redry). I would be lookin to new nutes. Certainly lighting up towards the end. Good luck

More importantly how long after harvest are you trying to smoke your bud?
Bud wont even start tasting good and burning clean for at least 2 weeks after you chop it. For real flavours and goodness to come out its more like 4 weeks+ depending on a multitude of variables.
If you try and smoke it a few days after harvest all that will happen is that it will taste foul like chlorophyll, the ash will burn black and you'll get a really bad head stone. The dead giveaway is your joint not burning..
Sounds to me like your trying to blaze wet weed bro.. If that isnt the case then it may be to do with flushing but answer the question first how many days since u chopped are u trying to smoke?

blaze yeah im for real. who would try and smoke wet weed,YOU? but i cured my buds for 6 days hanging and almost 3 weeks in jar its dry it snaps when bent and smell good. i rolled a joint and it didnt burn well but what i cant figuer out is that the ash is black?
try phing your flush water... should allow it to use up the available nutes... Im not sure if ph is just for nutrient uptake or for the plant to function in general... If its the latter then your throwing off the PH so it cannnot fully function and use up all the available nutes it has left in it and thats what is causing the bad flush....
also some strains need to be flushed sooner. i like 3 week flush on my soil/promix/coco grows... Its up to you to know if you need to change something. if your plants are not yellow/red/purple when you are done you need to do more. Flushing sooner is a easy way to do this... i do recommend phing your flushing water....
as for cure and what not. My shit smokes grey right off the stalk. 7-10 days drying then in the bag for a burp till its ready. No need for a cure even though it never hurts.
some strains also are ALOT harder to flush then others... i think its alot to do with the timing of the flush your plants need to be still actively eating to eat up all the nutes in the leaves.

thanks poopyteabags ill give the phing a try. the strains are p-phunk,og kush,diry ****** og and bubbel gum and they are still pretty green when i chop em down thanks tho
I agree with PoopTeaBags try ph adjusting your flush water and your girls will uptake the water instead of locking everything in because of elevated PH. If you have the funds get some clearex and hit em with it for three days then switch to the ph adjusted water for the remaining time and I'll bet that it'll turn pure white when smoked and it'll taste the way you want.
You want the plants to look like it's fall in your garden, the leaves will yellow and some will turn all kinds of colors from purple to mauve if the temps are right.

Yeah, just plain water not ph'd will lock the uptake out.. so PH the water next time bro!

The black coal sounds like to much N to me BTW. Maybe back that off sooner in your final nute mix. good luck

As was said, the flush water has to be pH corrected or the plant wont take any of it. Well..it'll "take" enough to stay standing and not die completely but it won't metabolize much.
Your herb sounds like the classic too much nutes in it to burn problem..which really really sucks. You can dry it in the oven until it shatters just from looking at it and it STILL won't burn. Even in a pipe it just turns hard and black. A joint is useless as just the paper burns and you're left with black encrusted asbestos weed. When you DO manage to get a hit off it it burns your tongue and lips with a metallic taste.
I've never tried the water cure to see if that would work. I kinda doubt it will. worth a try though because otherwise you have a pile of asbestos weed.
A few tips...skinny joints seem to work better...because of the paper?, wet the joint a bit in your mouth before lighting like they used to do in the '60s, and, the second half of the joint will sometimes burn..at least better than the first half.
Just about your only option is to make oil or hash I think.
I hate to sound so negative but I've been there a few times. Once it was an infestation of insects that prevented the plants from uptaking flushwater. Once it was weird pH fluctuations...it can be caused by a lot of things. It sure highlights the fact that you have to keep your plants healthy right to the end.

right on for the tips i bought some florakleen from gen hydro maby that will help. my friend said it might be that there is hevy salts around the roots. thanks smokestack23 that makes more sinces to me now
