Hello fellow growers,

For those of you who wanted to know what Mr.Nice Walkabout is all about this thread will provide the answers, stay tune as I'll update on a weekly basis from germination to smoke reports. Let's begin..

18 seeds. (Mine arrives in just 12 days :)

Germination rate: 100% (Out of 18 seeds.. killed 2 myself of weak genetics :)

Sativa/Indica ratio (educated guess): (12 out of 16 plants looks Indica dominates..)

Growing media: $12 for 40Lbs Miracle Grow soil, $3 for 20pack 16oz cup (both sold at walmart)

Lights: New waves 2ft" 4 lamps (96watts) for $160 (shipping included :) http://www.plantlightinghydroponics...t4-lamp-t5-fluorescent-grow-light-p-1934.html [Note: Highly recommended buying a 4 foot long if you budget is not tight..]

Fan: Optimus Ultra Slim Tower Fan $29.. free shipping if pickup at store (Makes a little rotation noise but super quiet if you don't use rotation) (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Optimus-Desktop-Ultra-Slim-Tower-Fan-With-LED-Display/11250080)

Total invested: $255

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Here's how the plants are being grown...

Grow Plans: This will be an OUTDOOR grow, I'm giving them a 1.5-2 months indoor head start for greater chance of survival in the wild.. my location is about 44 Northern hemisphere, same as NY or MA) and will transplant them outdoor May 1st-7th.

Germination: Started on March 1st (soaked 2 bounty towel, put all seeds between the sheets and hidden them in a dark/warm closet.. all sprouted on March 4th then transplant them into 16oz cups.

Lighting Schedule: All plants are under constant 24/7 lighting environment.

Growth Pattern: Plants seems to be growing at a rate of 2-3 inches per week (7 weeks X 2.5 inches = 16 inches tall before going outdoors), also the lights are placed 2-3 inches away from plants.

Watering: I water them every 2-3 days, I don't add ANY nutes or fertilizer...

Odor: The plants being giving odors about 1.5-2 weeks of their growth stage.. I liked the smell but not so with parents ^_^

-----------------------------------------------

From the rest onwards I'll give a couple of weekly updated pictures along with a short description what the update is about.... note tho, once they're outdoors I'll limits the update every month or 3 weeks apart as visiting the grow spots too often will provoke suspicious so just lay back and enjoy every updates I can provide :)

Here's a some shots right after germination.. a new beginnings :)

Howdy partner!

I love a good outdoor show, I've got a few spots in the works myself. Can't wait to see this one go, I bet you'll find some good genetics in the draw too!

Godspeed

Fortunately for me, I live in a rural area with an abundance of creeks and streams tucked away in backwood hollows.

The best things you can look for in a great plot are sunlight, water and privacy.

Make sure sunlight can penetrate your canopy (if growing near trees) from East and West.

Remember that if your strain won't finish until late in the year that local flora will have died down in preparation of the coming winter. So don't plant in an area that won't have cover come Autumn.

Water is key, you'll have to water at least once a week providing that it doesn't rain. Water weighs 8lbs a gallon and that's before adding any nutrients to the mix. It doesn't sound like much but it gets to be a burden quickly. Always pH your water source and calibrate if need be.

Privacy is the most important factor. Stay away from "main" roads and use google earth to find your perfect spot. Once you visit the location in person you'll be able to ascertain whether or not it is a suitable area.

sorry for being so long winded

Anyways, here's an update.. introducing 3 new plants to the family (all started 9 days later than Walkabout) but are catching on fast..

I'm doing a cloning project this weekend for sex determination.. once they show genitals it's time to move the males aside for the ladies to grow ^_^

Also I've just begun feeding them Fox Farm Big Grow.. lets see how big they get in a couple days.. until then enjoy friends :]

Looking good!

I never clone to determine sex, not that I'm against it... I just like to let their pre-flowers show naturally.

Then again I like to keep males if they are strong enough.

I really like FF and if I didn't have the hook-up on nutes then I'd still be using them. Now days if I use a chemical nutrient then it's prolly Advanced. I usually stick to TLO in soil, but everynow and again I'll throw some advanced in the mix.

Bravo!

2 - 4 biggest in closet
3 - compare to hand
4 - fimmed 4 days ago
5 - 95 degree flex :]

Anyhow, I was thinking setting 12/12 to pre-flower then revert back to veg and start taking clones.. thinks it's a good idea??

Not a good idea to play with your light cycle like that because it could force them to hermie.

The plants will show pre-flowers naturally when they are ready to reproduce. Shouldn't be too long, if you're transplanting outdoors then you shouldn't have to worry because you've still got some time to get them out.

Cheers!

It looks like you have a nice setup there, but you are getting some serious stretching. On your image "tall.jpg" it looks like you have 4 or 5" of internodal spacing. They need more light. In those areas of stretched internodes you're just gonna get popcorn buds. You want tight nodes for the big, thick buds. When are you planning to start hardening them off for their transplant outside?

PS. It looks like you can drop your lights down. Plants can even touch floros - though you'd probably be best to keep them 1" away.

Good luck!!! I'll be watching.

PNG is a pure sativa strain from New Guinea. Many claim that it's fuity as hell and very very resiny.

Never had a chance to try some, but I prefer the indicas myself.

I'm already drooling just from that short description :jump:

I'd be very happy if the batch end up a Pure Haze, Thai and the NG you just mentioned :)
