Came to share my soil grow with you tonight, most who know my threads know that I usually share my RDWC hydro room. I do on occassion get a chance to share plant shots from my soil grow but never really kept logs. I am going to change that Tonight I finished the 2nd room on the flip flop and I am pretty excited to have this upgrade complete.

I live with my soil grow and do check ups on my hydro so sometimes things around home get slow. I sit up at night smoking and reading and it makes me want to go farm, which usually means staring at my plants in veg. Now that I have a room on 24/7 I will get my fix late at night.

I never really thought much about building a new room here, but after recieving some FINE genetics I needed to. I didn't have the heart to lengthen my flower times for the connisuer longer flower strains and slow production but wanted to offer my patients a wider selection of meds. Building this room was the solution.

The Veg room:

8W x 6D x 7H
1K MH on Mover Air Cooled Yield Master Supreme
Carbon Filter Exhaust

Flower Room 1:

8W x 7D x 7H
2K Aircooled Hortilux HPS Yield Master Supreme
6" Inline + Carbon Filter
4" Intake + Carbon Filter

Flower Room 2:

8W x 5D x 7H
2K Aircooled Cooltubes
8" Inline Exhaust + Carbon Filter
6" Inline Intake + Carbon Filter

For the Flipboxes I gave the "Flipbox" a try, so far so good running nice and cool. They are running off a MDT-1 timer.

I run the same mix in all these rooms, it is Blazeoneup's updated mix and addtives. For the most part it is an add water only organic mix, but I do bust out some beastie blooms and cha ching in flower. I love it for the simplicity, Blazeoneup does it again!

Currently in Flower room one is Bog's Sour Strawberry Kush my strawberry pheno, schanzzleberry #2 my selection which is a spitting image on any of old school dj short males offspring, and the legendary Chem D. 5 of each in 5 gallon pots, tomorrow will be day 21.

In Flower room two we have what this room was basically built for, the legendary East Coast Sour Diesel!!! I smoked a sample from the source of the clone and must say its the real deal, very reputable source.

In Veg there is 8 moms, listed below in my signature. Also I have fresh Sour Bubble seeds popping right now for male selection. Coming up for veg with the Sour Bubble beans is Katsu Bubba Kush, a first run for her as well, should be running about 12 of them in 7 gallons.

Well thats what I can tell you right now, I figured it was time to let you all in on the soil grow. On to the Show!

Hey PK... im a newb a flip flops... although I know a ton of people use them.

Just wondering what you use it for... cost?
Whats a flip like for 2k run ya...

Only reason I ask is cause I'm buying ballasts for like 150$... they are magnetic granted... and 5 year warranty... just wondering the pro of a flip flop over extra magnetic... (your opinion) anyone else is free to say.. just not looking for an answer like... LOOK it up! Cause I would do all kinds of research if I was thinking bout doing it this way.
BTW: people are going to be thinking you started up a strawberry farm... or maybe you have a strip club going down in your basement... with all that artificial strawberry going on.

On another note... I talk to my grow partners ( my dad and brother)
about your comment regarding getting pulled over... and a cop would prolly just think you had way to many strawberry air fresheners.... their eyes light up... can't wait for a piece of that strawberry heaven.

Flip boxes are awesome,I have 2 but only use one.

In my case I only have the power to run 3k so to maximize usage I have 2k that flip every 2hrs during the 12 on cycle.

In PK's case he's running 4k off 2k worth of power and running the ballast 24hrs preventing a spike in energy .

Greenadian- Thanks, I have flowered out under cooltubes many times, I do however prefer yield master 2 supremes for hoods. I had 4 cooltubes not in use so I decided to put a couple to work. The room is small enough that the light foot print is awesome but most of all this summer if they shave a couple degrees of the rooms temps for the SOUR D. I may end up replacing them, but they are easy to work around in a small space.

green thumb- Ok here is the easiest way to grow in soil IMO, recipe by blazeoneup. I have set up many noobs who are having great success with this.

The Mix:

(Only changes I have made is Blaze uses 1 Bale of bcuzz coco, using canna coco like myself means using a little less overall coco. Also blaze uses 4 bricks of coco in the mix for some more texture as well.)

2 x Bag Canna Coco
1 x Bag Happy Frog
1 x bag Ocean Forest
1 x 30# Bag Earthworm Castings
1 x Bag Black Gold Potting mix
1/2-3/4 Bag Chunky Perlite

1 x Cup Blood Meal
1 x Cup Bone meal
1 x Cup Lime

1/2 Cup Foxfarm Peace of Mind Fruit and Flower
1/2 Cup Great White Mycorrhizae


Additives:


*****Feed Water Water Feed******

Veg:

1 tsp/gallon Botannicare Silica Blast
1 tbs/Liquid Karma

***3rd week veg add 1 scoop (scoop is in container) of Great White Mycorrhizae

Flower:

1 tbs/gallon Liquid Karma
1 tbs/gallon Sweet (choose your flavor, raw is my fav, rather taste the nug)
1 tsp/gallon Silica Blast
1/4-1/2 tsp/gallon Beastie Blooms Starting Day 14, at week 6 change to Cha Ching.

***3rd week Flower add 1 scoop (scoop is in container) of Great White Mycorrhizae

Flush with Clearex 10-14 days before chop

All my most recent soil grow were in Blaze's old mix, it worked great but came up short on notrogen for longer flowering or heavier eating strains. I anticipate this mix fixing that, he just finished ECSD with this mix and recipe flawlessly. I never intended on having any of the rooms shown here, I orginally built a veg room for my RDWC and I read about Blaze's mix and decided it was to easy to not do it. I have grown in soil quite a few times but this makes it much more enjoyable.

Yah'Mon- I choose to use the flip flops because I don't have any circuits left in the hosue. The flipbox cost me 125 a piece. I actually am dreaming up some more upgrades when i get from Amsterdam. My RDWC room may be going sealed with 8K, and I may actually upgrade my larger soil flower room to 4K, and convert the current veg room to a 2K flower, build another veg....never ending lol I have a panel that runs 4K off 30 amp so I could do some circuit swapping and make it happen.

Today is day 8 12/12 for the ECSD, the legend is true she is a stretch monster. Although, she is no match for my S&M skills. I ziptied her in place last night one last time, got her real low doing the limbo. This is the last trainning session besides support when they stop stretching. So far I have kept them real low they can go anywhere they want now, to me it is like running a "virtual scrog". I did end up lengthing my foot print to a true 8ft to give these girls all the room they need. Pretty much killed my walking space but was for a good cause.

The Sour strawberry in room one is dominating the schnazzle and chem d in the smell department. The Chem Ds under the lights have yellowed most likly due to high metabolism and a nitrogen shortage.....I should have went with bigger containers. The side chems are green and great but they yellow a bottom leaf form timr to time. Schnazzles are doing great. Katsu bubba kush coming out the cloner any day and the baby sour bubbles are almost ready for some real soil. Lots going on!

Here is some ecsd shots, I apologize for the HPS shots when it gets interesting I promise better shots. What do you think? This is day 8 12/12, is she going to put on another 2-3 feet? If she does that would be puuuuurfect. 72 more days!

Well going to double post here lol

One of my old buddy's is here to visit, ROOT APHIDS! Lately my yellow cards have been filling fast despite my mosquito dunk routine. I always when transplanting and harvesting check the root zone for aphids since I was first introduced to them.

A few plants in flower room one have been showing the sure tail sign and I am surprised it didn't hit me sooner with all them damn flyers buzzing around! Well tonight out of root curiousity I checked my sour bubble seedlings nice and bright white roots and there they were, the red assed root aphid.

Root aphids become more of a problem in a perpetual grow like this with different stages, and the show here has only just gotten more and more steady.

Whats the plan? Well Bayer Advanced with IMID applyed to the soil of course Shit works killer and as long as you use it within ethical timelines, all good with the proper pesticide precautionarys. Everything is used safely and within ethical timelines, I'm farmin over here
