Vert Crisis

Hey everyone...

Been lurking in the shadows, got the first vert setup started after 1 successful horizontal grow. Was hoping to start a journal in the next week, but ran into some problems tonight...

First off, sorry for not posting this in the Sick plant area... Would prefer to keep this amongst the vert.



Setup is 8x8 x2 1000w HPS, 8" 750 cfm. Temps 79 during lights on, night about 68. Started with x20 Hericules fem seeds, all germinated, and flipped to 12/12 35 days from seed germ. (12")

12/12 started 2.5 weeks ago. Had 1 plant show male, immediately removed. All others showed pistels.

Went into the room to water, and noticed that 3 are showing what appear to be pollen sacks. 1 of the three had sacks that were opened.

Read a few places about people saying to remove them and continue on, however those are for people with 2-3 plants. The remaining 16 look fine, no sacks. Should I have already chopped these an hour ago??

IMO if you don't wanna risk the chance of pollinating your grow chop em...

But if u were gonna just pull the balls off anyways I would try dutch master reverse...its supposed to stop/ reduce male parts on a fem...it says thats what farmers use to have seedless watermelon...u r supposed 2 spray them before flowering and 10 days in... but u still mite b able to stop pollination @ this point....

I have a fem og that hermed & I just ordered some reverse. I can't chop her down cause shes my biggest plant...so I'll let u know how it goes...Good luck

You needta look for light leaks in your room , since full blown "male" ball sacs on female plants spittin pistils is mostly genetic , but can be influenced by environment.....

If no light leaks or other extreme circumstances that would possibly cause it , then the strain/variety needs shitcanned due to flawed genetic tendencies from the hybrid cuz it`ll repeat itself....

Hermaphrodite`s/Hermies form nanners (banana shaped pods) outta female flower clusters in bloom cycle , and generally are sterile due to being influenced by outside stimuli as said above and formed earlier OR later on while allowed to pollinate the pistils closest to them and form minimal seedpods at best if then IME......

as freds "DHF" said get in ya room with the lights off inside and on outside, wait a few mins for your eyes to adjust, if you can see your hand infront of your face you got a light leek buddy boy and it needs pluggin...

if there isnt any light leeks i would pullem if it was me this early on your call tho dude, good luck...

Went in this morning to pull the ones I found last night, and found a few more from the same tier level that were showing a few each....

Ended up taking out the 5, and moving them into my 4x4 tent. Down to 14 now in the 8x8...

Wish i had a 600w in the 4x4, but CFLs will have to do...

Planning on trying to finish those 5 under the cfls, and hopefully no others show up in the 8x8. Is this a stupid idea keeping the 5? Should i just call it a loss and chope those? Are they salvagable being 3 weeks into flower?

Just ordered some Dutch master Reverse and Saturator...

Ill keep the 5 isolated then start with the Dutch gear, if that works, then Hopefully put them back into the tent...

i don't run unknown gear in my rooms.... gotta have small tester tent for that sorta thing...

Sure they`re salvageable......if isolated......But I wouldn`t run em again....You can keep pullin ball sac`s off each of the 5 for the next however long it takes till end of cycle , but.....

Don`t expect too much for your efforts with cfl`s finishin em compared to HID production once dialed.........

I mean , there`ll be some nugz instead of yas shitcannin em now with no nugz , so..... since you won`t be burnin whole buncha powerbill ta finish em , good luck.......just not keeper genetics regardless of what you buy from hydrowhores to reverse em and stop this process ......

IOW....don`t run these again unless you`re wanting seeded weed........every run........
