found someone else's spot today

Just wanted to share....

Was hiking today on some land today and scoping spots. Came upon this one spot with great light, but nice and hidden/relatively hard to access, yet not a long haul in.

Basically, it was a bare section of hillside with some mostly buried grow bag type setups filled with soil. Pretty well camo'd too.

Not going to go into more details than that, but once I found one, I looked around and found 5 or 6 more. I'm sure there were more in the area, but didn't feel the need to stir things too much.

Oddly enough, I have a pretty good idea who's they were, also for reasons I can't get into. No plants in them, but that part doesn't matter.

I checked one out, finished up hiking around in the area (while checking for game cameras, to see if someone would see who I was later) then left after making sure to leave everything looking undisturbed so I didn't spook the grower.

Hopefully, if this guy uses the spot again, he has some good luck with it. More respect to him for making nice spots, though I'll most likely never go back to that spot unless invited.

Just was cool seeing someone else's work.

Cool, but definitely a place I'd steer clear of for sure. It's also potentially dangerous. You can never be sure who might be around & if they could be armed, or any booby traps.

Yeah, man. I'd be careful and it's best to stay away. It may not be the person's you think it is - although it may. Personally, I would have felt compelled to leave a note - "Hey, dude. Just wanted to let you know I came across your grow. I'm not a cop and I'm super down w/ what you're doing, but people may find it. ~All the best ~ Peace." Something like that, although, I probably would've been so freaked out I would've high taled it out of there ASAP.

I'm with you guys on gettin right out of there. I was already in a tricky exposed spot though, just tried to go about what I was doing before and acting like I didn't know what it was I found. It was in a kind of spot where, if shits gonna go down, it doesn't matter if you run or not.

Was more important to me to take a good peak around for game cameras to see if my face would be on record. He/they will find my footprints later anyway if halfway observant, but just from disturbing the hillside, hopefully nothing too identifiable. More paranoid inducing thing was the line of woods across a clearing I couldn't see deep into, never know who's watchin.

Wasn't a commercial type setup anyway, from what I can tell. Probably 5 or 10 gallon bags buried, and spaced in such a way, that combined with the bag size, pretty sure it was personal.

at jack. : don't carry around a pen and paper with me when hiking. wouldn't want to leave a handwriting sample, and like I said, don't want to scare off the grower, its a pretty good spot that's few and far between and wouldn't want him to feel like he lost it.

I'm afraid if I was trying to grow and saw foot prints around my site I'd close shop and try to find a better site. IMO

IMO this might happen more often. With the way things are going and more people growing, needing supplemental cash flow especially in non-med states. If they don't got the room or funds to be stealth, outside is all thats left. Like OP stated good spots are hard to find and keep in some places. Karma for trying to be as least obtrusive to a fellow growers site, Grow on, Fred
