NFT for vertical??

Has anyone tried this? Are there any obvious drawbacks?

I'm thinking of stacking NFT tubes in a colosseum type setup, flat on the bottom but tapered up on the sides.

The height of the system can't be that tall obviously because of the top rows burning and the bottom rows stretching and being too fluffy. Aside from this I think it'd be worth a shot.

What do you think?

i think its an idea that can work i would think about chillers for an external tank unless your going to aircool your lights in the summer, heath robinson has made a nft type constant flo setup out of new waste drain pipes... do a search for his name sure you will like what you find!

I was considering insulating the tubes with some reflective quilt stuff I see many covering their walls with. I have no idea what it's called.

I think temperature may be the reason it's not common to see NFT stadium grows.

Reflectix. Also llewop has a thread here documenting his Heath Robinson type grow but used a single piece of flexible tubing which really simplified the build.
