Think's DIY BHO Tube

Well here it is. I spent my breaks at work getting stoned then little by little built this tube. This is my first tube and I cant give the exact measurements on all the fittings because like I said... I just grabbed here & there when I could...nothing exact. The tube is constructed of aircraft aluminum & the fittings are brass, copper & stainless. I haven't ran any product through it yet so after I do I will be sure to update this thread. There is enough room to extract into a pyrex dish. However as I go, I may make changes if I see neccisary. This tube is for my first shot at some bho. I just didnt want to cheap out on my diy. Ive seen some pretty shoddy stuff out there.

^ I wouldn't, the butane sprayed into the tube is cold and if the tube is frozen it may cause clogs.

Is there an official "Authority" on Bho production? Like I said this is my first bho tube and havent ran a batch yet. I'd sure appriciate if someone could point me to a good thread on the subject. I wanna make sure that my first honey is sweet and medicinal.

Hey there TG , yeah man, I do place the Butane and trim into the freezer(over night)...take the
trim out of the freezer, fill the tube and press the trim as much as i can..
as soon as the tube is filled to the top, then i take the butane out of the freezer and go outside to play with it ;)

hope this helps

I don't know that there is an authority, but there are some highly knowledgable folks on this thread, doing BHO extraction using different methods and seeking different end products.

The plant material can be run either freshly cut and then frozen, or dried and cured. The results will both be good, but different.

What I am going to do with the oil is what decides the process for me. What are you planning to do with yours?

Nice looking setup man. I was wondering, is there some sort of screen in the bottom of the tube to prevent the leaf from blowing out? Also is this a sealed tube that you then vent after a time period, or does the butane flow straight through? I have been thinking of making one of these so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Then you don't want it decarboxylated, so might I suggest the "Absolute Amber from Bannana Silver Lady Boys, and BHO for dummies" thread, for a good description of cold processing with fresh and cured material.

I have never tried an aluminum tube, but suspect that the commercial aluminum tubes would be anodized, which stablizes the aluminum oxides on the surface.

Copper is a cheap and easy way to make a tube and as long as you keep it clean, it will produce pristine oil. Glass and stainless are easier to keep clean, but more expensive to build.

Here are some details for a copper column that is easy to make.

You can reduce the cost about $20 by eliminating the union at the injection end, but I add that as an aid to keeping it clean.
