Flora nova

Just got me a bottle of flora nova and i was wondering how it would fare in low pressure hydro, any thoughts and experiences?

What is considered low pressure hydro?

Well, the definition is in the misters, however you also need different pumps and other equipment. But easily said; the difference is that low pressure hydro delivers the water as water, where high pressure delivers the water as mist/fog.

The reason i mentioned it is because the floranova is thick as tar and wouldnt do much good in a high pressure mister.

Floranova is amazing in hydro... I've used it for aero and dwc

aero? this term is used wrong so many times so i have to ask; aero as in aeroponics, as in high pressure?

How long did u have to shake it before applying it to the res? i wouldnt be a woman and use this nutrient without the years of training we men have :D

If thats the stuff your referring to....

I use it for both soil and hydro n' love the stuff. I run a bubbler bucket and change out my nutes every 6 days. The sediment I've found in the bottom of the pail is why I would never use the stuff (you know yourself the shits thick as tar) with dripper hose or misters/spray heads. Just my:2cents:

Lots of people think that you need to run aeroponics using high pressure as in TAG. I'm cheating and running an Aquamist system which is actually running a hybrid system per say. Floranova hasn't clogged it as long as I shake the bottle well and dilute it before pouring it into the reservoir. I mix a little water into a plastic bottle and add my measured amount of nutrient before topping off my reservoir with water.

I can report only good things so far, but wouldn't recommend it for fine misters that make a real aero system (5-50µ particle size) since Flora Nova nicely consists of bigger particles (no harm to drip systems, tho).

Floranova is a very complete nutrient and works well but IME it's a pain in the ass... it gets lumpy, too much shaking needed, looks like sludge, and causes excess salt buildup. I prefer nutrients that are at least somewhat transparent out of the bottle. Clearer nutrients keep a cleaner rez.

been using Flora nova bloom for a few years now in my DWC and have to say it works good, may clog up air stones but is rare.

Now for Flora nova Grow, never used it i tend to use bot-care for veg. (not as strong)

Now I will note I switched to RDWC and as said before Flora Nova clogged the feed lines and took a few days to/flush to clean my system out.

To sum up

DWC=good
RDWC=bad

May work for you but i stand by what I said the slime that build up for me was a pain in the ass. Oh and my water pump filter always hand gunk in the filter (more so then veg.) since i dont use flora for veg.

But could also be I use less stuff in veg. (additives) then in bloom so could be somthing else.

I take a half jug of waterand add Flora Nova and shake it up until it dissolves the gunk before adding to the reservoir. Pre-dilution may help you clogging problems.

Flora nova ftw! It really is all you need, for soil, hydro, flower, or veg. You do need to shake it a good bit before using. The stuff looks like chocolate cake batter... Yum

As for using flora nova in an aeroponic setup, I do see the concern with particles clogging up the misters/foggers. However, most of the bigger particles fall to the bottom of the res. Just put some type of filter on the intake side of the pump and you should be fine. However,I would examine the foggers after your first run with floranova and aero.

I am new to hydro but vegged with floranova grow, and now I'm flowering with maxibloom, floralicious plus, liquid koolbloom, and the occasional humic acid boost.

So far having pretty good results

Good Luck. Better get a shake weight to start training for the flora nova mixing.

For real on the mixing, it chunks up and you gotta mix it hard. I added a bit of water and Ph down and it seemed to help re dissolve the chunks.

Floranova is my favorite, just use the bloom.
