hey guys. due to my paranoia abuot burning my house down, i decided to try to make some iso without using heat to evaporate it afterwards. i used some leafy buds from last seasons outdoor. ive never made iso in the first place so i dont really know whats happenin

so anyways, i went ahead and made it, strained it though a coffee filter then left it to evap outside. the only problem is its rather cold outdoors in my neck of the woods. so did i just waste some buds or should it turn out alright?

You should just let it sit out in the open in your room or something.. I wouldn't be putting it outside.. The warmer it is.. the faster it will evaporate..

get a hot plate and a extention cord cook it outside... it will turn into sumthing smokeable but nothing like what it owlud be if you properly did it...

Heats theo nly way to get the good stuff...

I only have gas at mine, a safe way to speed up the evaporation is to boil water in a pan, turn the heat off, then place the plate with iso in on top of the pan, the steam warms the plate, and evaporates the iso faster, no naked flame, no fire.

If you blow air over it with a fan, it will rapidly evaporate at even low temperatures.

You may also pick up more atmospheric contamination, but if you drape a cheese cloth over the top, it will help minimize it.

Electric burners outside only..NEVER EVER INDOORS!

Nice amber color when done.

When I made iso, I didn't use heat. Try making your iso, putting it in an open room (or outdoors) and running a fan gently over it.

Always worked fine for me.

I never use heat making iso. Let it evaporate. Put a fan on it, and it shouldn't take more than a day or two. I always make sure to buy 91% ISO. The ISO evaporates quickly, the 9% water (or 30% with standard ISO) takes much longer to go. You can actually smell when the ISO is done evaporatig, since water doesn't smell.

To be sure that all of the ISO has degassed from the ISO oil, you can put the oil into a vacuum overnight. I have an attachment to my foodsaver that can vacuum Ball canning jars.

I used 99 % Iso
