Northern Lights in 250w HPS Cab!

Thanks guys! So Now that Im vegging them a while under HID lighting, should I switch over to MH from HPS for the week.? Ive never vegged under MH so Im curious what the growth will look like...

I guess you want to keep them girls low , since u don't have a tall cab . MH is best suited for long vegging periods , u do not want to boost them in veg , cuz they'll get tall ... if you have a proper cooltube you should try the MH for a couple of weeks,altough the lights you have now are more then enough in my opinion ! Most definitely. MH during veg will decrease internodal spacing and increase foliage growth. So you end up with more compact plants that have larger fan leaves - ready to suck up all that sweet sweet sodium light during flower and put it all into bud growth

Plants are looking much better a day after transplant...Things may get crowded in the cab in the next week or so, just the way I like it.

4 months no harvest! Ive got a couple budding in my PC case that are about 2 weeks in so Im getting a little taste before my main haul...Cant wait.

Hey All...

Needless to say its getting a bit hectic in my cab! The switch over to HPS lighting worked very well for veg... I wanted to veg them out for at least a week but after only a couple days I flipped to 12/12 and these plants are happy!

I think I underestimated the spacing, and am waiting for them to show sex. I think Id be very happy with 6 of 8 ending up as woman so I can spread that foliage out a bit...
These plants are squat little beast with tight ass node spacings and my house already smells like sh*t! Time to pack some carbon in my scrubber and that should make things a little less stinky...


I was actually hoping for a bit more stretch but beggers cant be choosers.

What hps is that? my 250 didnt do a crap for vegging and i felt i had to upgrade so i got me a 400 instead.

I think its a Lumilux HPS by Sylvania 250w...Its my 2nd run using it so Ill end up getting a new one after this. I had been running a 400w HPS switched down on my ballast to 275w before, but found out that when you dim these lamps you completely throw off the spectrum.

Thanks for support guys! i spotted my first MALE in the cab this morn...So far Ive got 4 FEMALE, 1 MALE. The male was the first seed to crack, to sprout, fastest growing, and thickest stemmed. Im thinking about isolating it and collecting some pollen for later.... I scooped up some very good local bloom ferts from a good friend and as soon as they dry up a little Ill hit'em with some food! Ill have some macro shots as soon as things get exciting. Right now its a bit to crowded and Im hoping to get 1 more male to clear some room. With (6) plants left I should be able to clear my 1/4 lb mark with room to spare.
