This morning I woke up to find several seedlings emerging (so far seven out of ten after five days one inch under soil) due to planting depth they get rid of seed shell on the way up and look strong and healthy

On a separate note here is a pic of bud development so far. Also, today was time for watering the gals. They have been drinking uniformly and were good and ready.

600W HPS is back in business due to lower temps.

You guys take care!

Always make sure all pots have a seed...

Always make sure all pots have a seed...

Well, all nine seeds have sprouted. I say nine because I didn't place a seed in the tenth cup... LOL

Good thing I started digging to find out about the missing seed.

All seeds planted directly in the soil, no soaking or wet towel method; each seed one inch deep and watered (mildly, 6.3ph, two drops of Clorox bleach per liter).

One week later they are like this:

Flowering plants have entered the third week, so we'll start seeing more bud development soon.

Those plants are begging for some food........

Proper nutrition is one of the most important aspects of growing....

Yield and quality will suffer if the plants are starving for the whole cycle...

The point is:

What deficiencies can we see at the moment?

I understand your concern but I was the victim of overfeeding in the past and wish to just let this one go "naturally" until plants show some signs beyond slow flowering rate.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Hey Ojo I like the setup. I do have to agree with 250wscrogger tho. While your plants may not show signs of deficiencies they just dont have the energy to produce big buds. For example, we find many people that give their mother plants very low ppm's in order to keep them from getting out of control. In flower we want them to get out of control. I dont grow in soil, but I would also say I disagree with no runoff, and letting them dry out. I understand your trying to avoid fungus nats, but there has to be a better way. Wether or not your giving them nutes they still should be getting flushed IMO. Drying out also seems as if it would bring stress to the plants thats not needed. In my experience plants love consistency. Always having water, and food to drink is important to these plants. Give your plants some food, it wont hurt them. Good luck on your grow. Peace.

Hello,

Today I did some changes to the set up in order to optimize lighting, improve air circulation and reduce temps.

It seems that 600W HPS is too rich for this strain (not hot blooded Sativa lumen sluts) and it results in stress and delayed growth and flowering vigor.

I am using two 400W HPS and spaced out all pots. Seedlings are under the hot zone and are hardening... they are Flaca seeds and love the light.

Two fans are taking care of the 400Ws nicely. Got them today folks! LOL

Several pots might have to be watered tomorrow... we'll see if that ever important dry top inch of soil tells me to go ahead.

So far so good and hope these changes suit my girls.

Thank you!

Jamaican schawg can be interesting if obtained fresh. As for the Cali comersh being exported... Makes hella sense with current Cali prices for outdoor "kind".

So here is a little update:

Plants have responded positively to the changes in wattage and set up spacing/geometry.

As you can see the Flaca seeds are doing very nice and growing like corn:

I can see ready improvements in pistil production vigor and overall better plant disposition.

My tent is 3 x 6 feet so I would venture to say that in Vertical settings 400W are adequate for 3x3 areas and 600W for 4x4.

Being said that, I wish to give the Flacas some 600W love to honor their Sativa hot blood.

This is a good example of how efficient vertical settings are!

Ojo here,

Today it was time for watering at the temple... All girls got a good watering (6.3 PH) plus some decent run off since this soil mix while good tends to be a little borderline hot.

So far I have noticed ZERO fungus gnats... Please note that I am also adding 1ml of Clorox bleach to my 10 gallon watering rez.

I am starting to think that if you grow at temps of 80F or more you MUST use bleach in your watering/feeding in order to avoid root rot. Also suspect that fungus gnat larvae are no friend of Clorox... same as some other root feeding insects.

We will see...

Fully cured NL#5 x SK#1 goodness...

This one took after the NL side of the family, very nice fruity/pine taste and great relaxation.

Hello all !

Just a little update here. Plants are now "really" entering flowering. I did notice on a previous run that this strain tends to flower slowly during the first 3 to 4 weeks. Last time I took this natural trait as a lack of blooming ferts which caused much more damage than anything else.

Please take a look:

One of the very few things I dislike about vertical light is how it tends to cause leafs to fold in order to catch main and strong reflected light. They look droopy to some degree but bud sites do the talking.

Here are the Flaca seedlings that have been hardening. So far so good and it was a perfect 10/10 germination business using plain soil and bleach treated water (2ppm) at 6.3-6.5 ph.

Thank you!

Hello,

I am letting the grow continue with two 400W HPS and maybe will switch to MH during the last two weeks.

Flowering is on its way and I am still just giving them plain water adjusted with phosphoric acid. Seedlings are doing fine and hope to have the house "empty" by the time they need more space.

laylow

i like how you brought them all in a lil closer... the Vert Marlo scrogger screens are a good idea.. i think on your next run if you veg a bit longer you will really get them screens filled out to maximise final yield return... plants look really happy and healthy... :D

Those screens are very good and can be made taller. Next run I'll use a Sat dom strain and add another section to the screen to make it around 3 feet useable surface for grow.

And perhaps bring two 600W HPS to the show for extra lumens.

Thanks for stopping by!

So far just following the original plan. Just provided needed PH adjusted watering with chlorinated tap water.

This strain is really EARNING a place in my heart:

Hello friends!

It looks like I have entered the last two weeks of flowering... so far just sticking to PH adjusted tap water.

Please keep in mind that these plants were taken from last run and were kept under less than optimal conditions as clones. I had to keep them alive but just surviving since moms were still flowering.

The Sat dom plants are easy to spot and smell like skunky sweet coffee!

The Indica dom give away delicious scents of ripe mango and grapefruit.
