For Pete’s sake vertical growers turn off the dang lights or where a dam long sleeve in there, I just burned the shit out of my arm again! Please for the sake of yuh boy Pete, and are skin do so! Please. I always think I can get in there quick to do something and be out one of these days I might just flinch hard and knock something down. Fuckin bad habits die hard yuh dig!

Who here has got burned up? Or is it just me..... Dam I'm uh stoner!

I've put an 'S' hook on the lights and move them to another 'S'
hook, actually the hook from a clothes hangar, cut and bent to fit on one of the cieling struts.

1st thing I do is to move the lights from under the exhaust fan and put them on the hook in the corner.......
out of the way!

Now the problem is forgetting to put it back into the center of the tent.
Couple times, I forgot and left them hanging in the corner.
Better than burning hair and skin.

i turn my lights off every time i go in, not necessarily for precautions but my room is just too small not to. it works though, havent burnt myself yet

Krunch.....I feel yer pain my buddy.....After 15 or so yrs of bare bulbs , I`ve got more scorchmarks/scars than yas can imagine , but every 1 had $ written on it 1 by 1 so I endeavored to persevere for the greater good......An old man`s tat`s instead of ink....each 1 different and individual from where it came from over the yrs....

I finally got wind of "green-eye-tasklights" several yrs ago , and started entering enemy territory during lights off FTW , and learned/self-taught howta garden in the dark as needed...I still got bit after that in times of curiosity with new strains , but it`s inevitable if yas don`t cover the bulbs with somethin when inside the grow area......

IOW......no reason ta be in there during lights on guys......If yas can`t stand it , Maj Cottonmouth`s #5 goggles are mandatory , and head ta toe body armor is required for stoner plant inspection....lol....

MGT`s got a 5 gal bucket with the bottom cut out that he hangs around his bare bulbs when he does trimmin , prunin , shapin on his girls.....

First time I ever saw it , I said DOH......such a simple solution to ugly scar prevention for a few lights.......

I totally understand about runnin warehouses full of bulbs hangin Krunch , so git yer ass some green eye tasklight`s and learnta garden at night..Horticulturesource.com....

They wrap around yer ear like bluetooth , and I used 1 on each ear , looked like ET when I went in for inspections and tedious work , but I never got burnt again by Gawd.....except on ignorant occasions when I got overwhelmed with stupid runnin new shit in rotations and Bammm....backed up to another electric attitude adjustment......

Ya`ll be careful....no shit....it ain`t hardta tend shit lights off once yas know what ta do and howta do it in minimum time inside your rooms......

Pain is such a rush......

Personally I like to wear a cotton hoody, so my my head is covered as well as my arms and torso. It's thick, unlike a long sleeved shirt... but you'll still feel the heat I promise you that. Anyway, any clothing worn in the grow room should be 100% cotton. Polyester, nylon and such artificial fabrics will melt to your skin, be warned.

What about those spiral green CFL's? Would those work as well for going in at night?

I just added a green light in my room works like a charm I set my timer for how aver long I'm in there so I dont have to go back and manualy turn them back on. putting wire around the bulb may still burn you! dont the wire heat up as well being so close to the light?

its something I saw in lazy mans thread. I haven't had to use it yet in my room as I usually go by the smell of my t shirt being super heated. it seems it wouldn't be as hot as the bulb and would give you a less painful wake up

I seen that one in Lazies to I was thinking of doing that till I found a green bulb in my closet. I put my lights on a 2x4 and put the whole thing on chains I move the whole thing up and down to work but i still get burned some how, I think putting a green light or cfl bulb.

rite of passage... if you dont get burned @ least once, @ some point, your lites are not close enough to the plants...

You could make a little cage to surround the bulb like a hanging work light.

Or, depending on your setup, could use a light cage like Hundred Gram Oz is doing with his current show.

I wear a cap and some serious goggle type shades. Generally though when me arm touches a light I am quick enough to escape unburned...probably just a matter of time though.
