Do you think this could be something to worry about with next seasons California outdoor buds if Japan's nuclear problems aren't fixed?
I think there's a possibility that the radiation will make the plants mutate into giants like Godzilla. People will say, "screw the redwoods, where's them cannabis plants?"

At this point absolutely no. It will take them awhile to fix the problems. Unless some major change in what's going on there I see no reason to be concerned. If that much of a problem you probably shouldn't be outside breathing the air. How many people smoke cigarettes? Some say the constant low level radiation from smoking ciggy's really the main problem with them over time.

Not the same thing as stuff like Cesium and Plutonium falling onto your plants.

That was no joke and a valid question during these times.
If that's what it's gonna take to grow 'clean' herb at that point then your food supply is already fucked. Non radioactive herb should be the least of your concerns if it comes to that.
Considering the massive cover-up in full swing it is a genuine concern...

Japan is NOT Chernobyl but they still have some serious problems.
The waste is in the storage ponds and not the reactors....still a potential problem though. If they become a Lake of Fire then I might start to worry. I live near the Nor Cali coast and not worried at this point.
Chernobyl blew about 25% of it's core into the atmosphere...not even close with what's happened/happening in Japan right now.

A friend is buying a much more sophisticated meter than 'average'. Should be here soon. Once we start playing around with it if the thing is going off then I'll start to worry. At that point worrying won't matter much though...lol!

I'd be more worried about people using fungicides & pesticides approved only for ornamentals, or not following phi (for a similar crop).
what about the fish? think of the fish LOL. geiger counters and radiation badges for everyone
Considering. the amount of radiation around Fukushima is 4x that of the exclusion zone around Chernobyl... its worse.
The waste was stored directly above the reactors! One of which has blown up!
