Need to go from harvest to dry in 14 days

..can it be done?

I'm harvesting April 16th and need to move out of my house by the May 1st and need my harvest to be dry and hopefully smokable by then. I"m running High pressure aero and I was thinking of just turning off the pump the day before to start drying them out.

The room I have to dry is the flower room (14x8x8) It has two 6 inch exhaust fans pulling from the top corners, I also plan on firing up the dehumidifier and running an oil heater to bring the temp up.. Its pretty cold here in teh PNW right now.

Am I going to ruin some quality by trying to speed dry this harvest?
Should I do the regular hang on fishing line or use my hanging net thing?

I know its not good to count ur chickens before they hatch but the ladies look really fat, some of the biggest i've grown, so I dont know if that will play into the dry time.

suggestions? comments?
get at me IC!

Should not be a problem to have dry and smokeable bud in 2 weeks under (unless you live in a rain forest where with 90%+ humidity).

First flush for at least 3-4 days, 1-2 weeks is better.
For basic cure I only use 6-7 days.
For good/glass cure no plastic, 20-30 days.

But to answer you, yes 2 weeks can be done quickest for me is 13 days after harvest/out the door

If your really worried about it, flush a little early and don't water for 2- 3 days up to chop.

After three days, you should be good to go :)

Not saying you'll get quality there, just saying you'll have smokable bud :) Be prepared for the horrible taste :puke:

You can also try to slow heat, like in an oven set to bake on its lowest setting, a small bud or two. It will take 5-10 mins or so. Don't use the microwave, its disgusting and makes the weed soggy and limp. Not to mention the other crap it does to the plant you've been taking care of for so long.

After a week they should be dry enough to cure. Cure in glass jars at your new place. I like to cure for at least a month. I have seen potentcy double.

I make a dryer/dehydrator. I use old chests of drawers. Nice big ones. I remove the "floor" of each drawer and replace it with wire mesh. If the cabinet isn't REAL big I sometimes put two levels of mesh in each drawer but don't make the upper one the full width of the drawer so I can access the bottom layer of each.

I then cut some holes in the bottom of the cabinet. I usually put a bunch of 2" holes in with a holesaw. On the top of the cabinet I cut a 6" or 8" hole (to fit whatever size of ducting I'm using) and I hook a carbon filter and fan to it which sucks air into the bottom of the cabinet and out the top into the carbon scrubber. I park a dehumidifier beside it set at about 55%RH and I have crispy buds in about 24 hours. Oh..I put the buds into the dryer after I trim..I trim wet. If you're in a hurry I'd suggest you manicure before drying. No sense waiting for all those big fans to dry too.

So, once they come out of the dryer I trim the buds off the stalks and put em in airtight containers. The moisture that's still deep in the tissue and stalk then migrates to the dry part of the bud and starts the cure. If you do this in a slightly warm environment the moisture "transfer" can be complete in a couple of hours. You can then dry them more or leave them sealed to cure.

They're very smokeable using this method in just a few days. Of course, the longer you let them cure the better but yeah...in a bind, it does the trick.

In a typical 4 drawer chest of drawers I can dry about a pound at a time.

I know that's way fast and a lot of people will be sure that weed dried and cured that fast will taste green or like hay but trust me, your weed'll be just fine and will get even better in the next two weeks of curing. If your bud is real dank it'll be fine right away. If it's some Mexican bagseed bud you'll want all the cure you can put on em to squeeze all the sweetness you can out of them. Like I said though...with dank stinky Kush..it's gonna be dank and stinky and Kushy even if you nuke it dry.

PEACE and good luck with the move.
