tangential, but the same general gist i guess - the same places that sell cases of papers also sell cigar wraps much cheaper than gas stations, and much much much cheaper than buying cigars and cannibalizing them.

blunts aren't really my gig, but i never really understood why folks would pay for tobacco just to pitch it - much less piss around with a razor blade/other methods of gutting a stogie - when you can just get the wraps much cheaper and not have to make an engineering project out of getting baked.

I'd be happy to pay that even, they're like $5+/pack around here. Every time they raise the cigarette tax, rolling papers go up too.

That is nuts!

I would have to stick to the glass if it came down to $5 a pack. And that would suck cause i LOVE my joints!

Sounds like ebay would be the best thing for you Pistil.

Iron have you smoked those hempires before/yet?

Yup, I've been smoking them for the last few weeks. They are a nice clean smoke, no after taste that is common with other papers. Even zig zag ultra thins left more of a taste than these, they burn more evenly than my ZZ UT's. Only thing is they're not quite as tough as Z Z UT's but I think those are rice paper so they are much different.

I will say my rolling paper experience is very limited, to JOB, EZ Wider, ZZ orange, ZZ white, and ZZ Ultra Thin out of all of those Hempires are light years better. I would like to try RAW papers at some point and see if they are better.

Howdy! I've tried most of those brands and would put ZZ in the same general category as JOB, EZ Wider, Rizla, etc. With those Gas Station brands I find the thinner the better, but they still have a distinct taste.

RAW makes decent stuff. I use their tips because they're a little wider than most & I like that.

I don't like any rice papers because they're hard to get any traction on when you're making "the flip"! Hemp papers let you get a grip on them, which is nice. One thing that cracks me up about RAW is that they make a big deal about their papers being unbleached and natural, but ANY hemp paper is inherently natural because of the way it's whitened. . . and that goes for everything from rolling papers to books printed on hemp. Most pulps for paper (wood, kenaf, bamboo, etc) are whitened with all the nasty shit you can read about in this link, a byproduct of which is dioxin. . . absolutely horrendous shit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleaching_of_wood_pulp

All hemp pulp requires to whiten it is hydrogen peroxide, so the by-products are completely safe. The result is a standard white paper that's tacky enough to roll, doesn't taste like anything but the cannabis plant, and is completely natural. Sounds good to me!

Hello all,

I am a ZZ Kutcorner fan myself.

I am sad to say that finding them is more difficult then it used to be.

Used to be that every place thay sold beer had them///now you have to go into a head shop to get a good selection anymore.

Anyway, I prefer the thin papers.

when we would smoke blunts, it would be on party occasion, or on gatherings, so a little 2$ or 2, nothing there, its an occasion

also, most blunt wraps that were sold here tasted strange and chemy, thats why we used to buy cigars, and gut them and take the main paper out

as for the engineering, , some people like it,

like some people who enjoyed crafting their own bong at one point

its a ritual thing, maybe it could even be considered an art

I am glad to see this thread...I've had too many sketchy things happen when buying RP's at the local liquor store! I actually had a young punk come up in line behind me, look at what I'm buying, and say loudly, "Wow, man, you must smoke a lotta dope!" I am SO over it!!! Thanks, Iron Lion! :joint:

I'm a younger fella too. Just not a stupid one, grew up around older potheads....I distinctly remember an occasion at 7-11 when a kid behind me asked if I needed/could help with something to roll up with, while I was still paying....that's why I buy my Hempire at the headshop :dance013: Actually, they always just give them to me :jump:

Bulk buying makes great sense these days, first off you can usually get things cheaper then there is the savings on travel as mentioned which with gas prices steadily rising that could be a very big deal in the next few months to a year.

What's great about doing this even with rolling papers is that usually something like that would be shipped. Now if you stop and calculated all the gas you might normally use running up to the local store where you get your papers every week then you probably break even or maybe even save a little.

So I bought some RAW from Amazon third party and I like 'em.
I went to the corporate site but I could never find out what they are made of--just that they are unbleached.

love?

As a not-so-serious joint smoker I don't like to buy papers in bulk.

But yeah an ordinary pack of rolling papers will run out very fast.

So what I like are RAW organic (hemp) rolls. It has 5 meters of rolling paper on a roll so it'll last a while but only costs like two bucks and you don't need to buy/order a huge box.

The rolls are available in various materials from various brands. So you don't need to go with RAW organic if that's not your style.

the journey man...:joint:

and most cigars have less chemicals than the wraps. especially natural leaf cigars

I usually use ZZ thins, ZZoranges,ZZ kingsize, or Elements. I prefer thins & elements but Im not too picky if I don't have them. I've been stupid stoned with a TOP or Bugler paper too.

I buy mine at arco for 2.49$ and no one ever says shit to me, then again I dont look like the real conversational type.
