Resin on lips!?!

Yeah that yellow stuff is nasty. I usually take a piece of tissue and wipe the tar off the mouth end. Some tars are a bit more viscous than others and don't wipe as easily w/o solvent. On the flip side, I never want the taste of lemon kush to go away, I don't care if it's tar.

Well, good news! I went to a doof this weekend and me and a couple of mates split money for a 4 foot glassy. 
It smokes a harsh hit if you don't smoke it correctly, but either way, you get a better taste and absolutely no smelly sticky tar on your lips!... Well, I get to keep the bong because they can't hide it at either of their homes.
I also bought some sticky mango smelling buds from a guy there for pretty cheap strong smoke and nice after taste. It's so sticky you have to run the scissors over your fingers after chopping to get those crystals back. I also had a drop of some liquid at the doof....all I can say is.... :jawdrop:
It was truly some incredible acid 
Anyway, I think it was definitely something to do with the size of the bong, ie: small. But these new buds don't leave as much tar on you lips as the last stuff I was smoking before, so it also had something to do with the buds. Hmmm

Bumping this thread because I have noticed some strains have more of this dirty tar than others. Doesn't matter how clean the bong is, I always get the resin lips from Double Dutch, but never from Headbanger. This makes the dutch taste like shit, and the banger taste delicious. It also doesn't seem to be dependent on frostiness, because the Headbanger is more frosty than the Double Dutch. I also never get the resin lips from dabs. So I think the tar referenced in this thread is the byproduct of combusting some non-psychoactive oil component found in variable amounts between different strains. We need to breed this trait out of the cannabis genome because it's gross as fuck.

When the resin smells nasty, the cannabis is NOT clean. It should smell like resin, not a concentrated dirty ash tray smell.
The dirty ash tray smell comes from burning dust, dander, hair, fibers, pollen, bug carcasses, bug feces, excess nutrients and sprays. Clean cannabis does not have this smell in the smoke or in the resin.
edit: When you lick your lips 45 minutes later and say "Yumm... that *really* was a tasty joint/bonghit," you know you were smoking some cleanly grown cannabis.

I disagree...although you are correct that lack of cleanliness CAN cause bad taste. My point is that it isn't always the cause. I have proven to myself that it is also strain dependent.
I only use PBP and coco loco...nothing else. No pesticides, not even neem.
I flush with plain water the last 2-3 weeks.
My ashes are pure white.
I have one strain that produces the evil resin and one that doesn't.
Both strains are grown exactly the same way, in the exact same tent, at the exact same time.
Yet only one strain gives the gross resin, and does so consistently.
The dirty resin CAN be from genetics.

Flavor is good if it is vaped or turned into oil or rosin.
Also not quite as bad if lit with a glass rod instead of butane torch.
Pretty weird. The pheno smells out of this world like grape jolly ranchers.
