Help needed from Experienced Growers

I have several plants about 13 days from harvest. I'm out of smoke and can't get in touch with my regular supplier. Am I okay to trim off some of the lower branches/buds for some premature smoke? Will this affect/stress the plant for the remainder of flowering? I'm gonna run up and take a pic of the plant I want to trim from, so hopefully I'll have a pic up soon. Thanks.

Well now I don't know what makes one an experienced grower but it may actually do the remaining buds a favor.

If you don't go overboard, then a little thinning of lower buds would allow nutrients and resin to be concentrated in the remaining.

Yes, you can do it, but it wouldn't be cured. You could cut some buds and do a water cure, which takes 7 days. It won't hurt your plants.

Thanks folks. I trimmed a couple bottom branches with some half decent buds, but my buddy called shortly after, so I can at least dry my cut buds properly before I smoke 'em.

You could use the steam cure method for a quick sample, but a proper cure will make all the difference.

Yup, it would probably do the plant no harm at all and may even improve the ripening of the main buds a little.

Resin is NOT mobile around a marijuana plant, that's an ancient myth (maybe you just didn't explain it clearly - you're obviously an experienced grower). Resin production does, however, come with well developed buds. The buds may improve due to an increased availability of nutrients if the plant was slightly underfed before the trim.
