Greening Foliar Spray

Hey All,

Since switching to organics I still have a few plants that are a little yellow in early flower. I've just began brewing a tea however, a tea may take awhile to kick in thru the root system.

I'd really like to see some recipes from the community on a nice foliar spray that can really green up a plant in a hurry. Clones included.

There's been sometimes where maybe lockout has occurred, got lazy, or a multitude of things that happen to us growers where it be nice to use a foliar for a 2-3 day period and bring a plant back into the green.

I've started spraying with House and Gardens, "Magic Green" to no avail. However it is about 2yrs old, so it may be inert.

So please chyme in and lets see what we can come up with. I've got a Chem91 right now that for whatever reason is on the yellow side while everything else is fine, including her sister.

I will make up some of the sprays and take some before and after pics to see how they work.

Thanx Again

Magic Green

Magic Green

Here's a blurb on Magic Green, sounds just like what I need, but it hasn't worked. Plus its very expensive.

House & Garden Magic Green

"Magic Green is a boost for mother plants, rooted and unrooted cuttings and growing plants. Magic Green is administered by means of sprays with a plant pump or a back-pack sprayer. It is absorbed directly bt the leaves and gives plants back their dark green color and vitality. Magic Green is a gentle plant agent and works within two days.

House & Garden Magic Green is a 100% biological plant booster that not only provides nutrients for the leaves, but also protects the plant against external threats from insects and mold.

With every spray, Magic Green forms a kind of wax film on the leaves to prevent insects and mold from damaging the plant. Magic Green also enhances the plants natural balance. As Magic Green contains all main and trace elements, it may provide a temporary solution when the substate is disturbed so that the plant cannot absorb nutrients though its root system. This makes it an excellent solution to help the plant through a difficult period."

Make Your Own: Supernatural's Green Stay
SuperNatural Green Stay The importance of keeping the leaves healthy and green through out their growing cycle can make a dramatic difference in flower and vegetable production. It is easy to keep your plants healthy and green. By using a foliar spray of professional quality nitrogen, magnesium, and iron formula like Supernatural Brand Green Stay, results can be seen in just two days with one application. Combine with Ultimate B1 Thrive for the highest quality first aid for plants.

Mix:
6 grams of potassium nitrate
2 grams of Epsom salts
5 ml of Seachem iron (or other soluble chelated iron use Seachem as it's easy to find)
1 gallon of water

Foliar feed once midway through the flowering cycle, and once 2 weeks before harvesting. This should allow the plant to more effectively photosynthesize by keeping chlorophyll alive and well, which should in turn increase the mass and density of the flowers.

The spray schedule is not for lychee but its a start. This product is listed as a first aid and not a regular fertilizer.
how's this

From what I understand you can't readily acquire Potassium Nitrate these days. Anyone have a take on this?

Hey lokes sorry to hear you had a problem w/ your magic green... I use it a lot actually and it does work well (less than a year old) might have something to do with it... but what I learned/was told that did increase its effectiveness was A. follow the bottle instructions PER GALLON not per sprayer... too strong, House and Garden even confirms this on their site.. apparently U.S. based bottles still had old mixing instructions and needed to be fixed, and B. add a tiny bit of dish soap into the sprayer with the mixed magic green solution(not dawn/ heavy antibacterial kind just simple soap) reason for this is it causes it to stick to the leaf better instead of rolling right off and can be absorbed better, look it up don't just take my word on it, but it did help :)

H & G's Roots Excelerator is their flagship product tho, works as advertised for the $$$ it costs, but their magic green does work just with some little tweakage... and can take 2-3 days to notice a difference... also the stuff spoils within 2 weeks of being mixed so make sure you don't keep excess mixed as it can be adverse rather then beneficial.

Yeah, know about the dishsoap thing does work well. Not sure if the proper term here is chelate, but i think it is.

If you add water to a glass and take dash some pepper from a shaker. then add 1 drop dish soap, you will see the pepper receed to the edge of the glass as its resting on some type of (film?) on the water. the dishsoap breaks that up.

I actually use coco wetter from spray-n-grow.
