Thanks for the responses everyone. They have actually started frosting up a little since my last post. These are from last night.

You should start torturing them. Crucifixion, thumbtacks, girdling.

Damage to the lower stem seems to be most widely used and associated with extra resin production or potency.

And this seems to be the right time for that - after they have started frosting up.

If you want FROSTY you can spray them in water and put buds the freezer until they show frost. :bigeye:

Seriously though, if you want trich covered buds grow some Sweet Tooth

ROFL! This made me chuckle.

Im using tigerbloom right now, and trying to stay organic, he mentions he gets double the yeild with advanced nutrients, kinda a buzz kill as this is my first try at organics, i may switch back to maxibloom if im going to end up with much smaller buds...

Genetics genetics genetics.

With that said, I could have sworn I've heard many mention that blue lighting decreases yield but gives ya' way more trichs, I have 2 rooms with HPS & one with MH, and it's really hard to tell a discernible difference

This is an opinion and I definitly disagree with it

Smokeythebear: "advanced nutrients is the best shit out there"

yes, that was a general statement. i should have explained myself more fully. not all advanced nutrients are great. the three things i mentioned are worth the money.

i am also 80% sure that tiger bloom is not organic.

Tiger Bloom, is NOT fully organic although it has some organic components. Fox Farm Liquid Big Bloom however is all organic according to FF. I have used the Big Bloom, it works. :tiphat:

I'm hopping on the genetics bandwagon, you can't polish a turd.... Keep poppin' seeds and findin them girlies....

I KNEW someone would post a link to that, I almost said "now dont post that link to that myth-busters blah blah blah" but decided not to.... perhaps i should have... lol!

No worries though, though one MAY be able to polish a turd, the effort (with cannabis growing) at the very least is not worth the time and space...

I know for a fact that over fertilization and high temps greatly reduce the amount of trichomes. My brother always over fertilized and had high temps...his stuff didn't come out as good as my grow(we both grew out the same strain). He had multiple harvests with the same results.?

A lot of the apparent "frostiness" of a bud is simply down to the light when it was photographed - Try using a flash rather than ambient light and see what happens ;)

^lol. I think he means better resin and trich production for the benefit of better or more potent bud, not for the effect of making it look frostier to impress us. Maybe for better bag appeal, but you don't take pics to show off your dank buds to friends

Genetics ftw. Of course good healthy plants are key too, and whatever means of nutrients you use to get there. To quote an old wise man, "there's always more than one way to skin a cat." I feel there are various good combinations/recipes of nutrients, but the key is that you reach that goal. Happy healthy lush plants
