it just creates a bowl effect and the bottom shoots grow to the top minimul waste you see. i usually bend the main stem a week b4 12,12 and remove all fan leaves but only if the shoots they support are big enough to take light, if you do it to early they stunt, but with practice its easy, basically any shoot needs light especially the bottom ones bend the mian stem to encourage bottom growth, then whack any fan leaves off to maximise light.
if you get it right you get this, minimul veg time.

yes our bigwity has got quite a good strainlist under his belt, and some crackers there for sure.
I struggle deciding what to grow now, but got some fav clones which are keepers untill better stuff comes and replace`s them, and i`v got a stack of seed that needs running.

I have always went with not pulling leaves? I pull some now using LED's i get more penetration. I flipped the 1st into 12/12, if thats a lower bud in that pic, i can see this working for me. Maybe. My lights equal a 600hps, i have them in a tent to, so anything to encourage bottom growth might help after this scrog im going to run.

that was a lower bud they were all like it apart from 1 which was the main cola about 2 times as big. its the best method ive found cos you dont really need long veg at all.

New ballast? Sounds good brother. Ive been using lumateks over the last few years, with decent results. Which ones you prefer to use? Dam, wish i had more than 50 posts, i coulda tried to help. Bought a pallet of canna equipment. It came with lots of adjustashade covers, and about 5 lumatek ballasts. Got lightmovers, and loads of other stuff i just dont need...lol, look out ebay, here i come.

Ive heard nothing but good things about this arcata cut. lol, i was given some trainwreck of a dealer locally. He didnt remember the name properly, and told me it was called truckcrash. Next thing you know, i got my fizzy drink coming out my nose! lol
Smoke was lame, but so is all bud from the area im in. Its as if their is a conspiracy to make sure i dont smoke anything nice locally!
