choosing location based on electric rates: what am I missing?

So, obviously, this is a bit of a silly thread. :tiphat:

My friend and I got into a disagreement about my move. Within my med state, I moved to a section that has about 35% cheaper electric rates than the other, more populated (and frankly, more interesting) part of the state. This was literally the only reason for the move. He's an experienced grower, and he's busting my balls, saying I'm being irrational and blah.

Running my current setup, I'm saving 300 dollars per month in electric bills going from 12.5-13 to around 8.5 per kwh.

He had to go and didn't have time to elaborate, and I'm a youngin' prone to have a silly moment or two. What am I missing here? Why is this irrational?

Maybe in the less populated area the cops will have more free time to bust your balls (legal or not). I don't know man, I wish you the best.

depends how much your growing.... yeah saving 300 is OK..... but if you are pumping out 10#packs, then who the fuck cares about 300? it would be like saving a lb over the course of a year.......

and if you moved far away from people who might want to snoop, then good job moving farther away from the more "interesting" part of your state..
