Search warrants for apartments..

If you live in an apartment and park in a garage on the property does a search warrant for the apartment also cover the car in the garage?

in the states, we have what's known as an automobile exception - essentially, cops know they can get away with (in a court/evidence sense) a vehicle search if they have probable cause. whether you're driving it or not.

it kinda sounds like you're anticipating a visit, and looking for a stash spot - your car is the last one i'd use.

When I was in CO I had my dorm searched based on PC (Scale in plain view), they found some stuff & charged me. They were very familiar with my car (It stood out like a sore mb) and were very adamant that as soon as they found it they were impounding & searching it (It was parked off campus at the time). According to my lawyer this would have been an illegal search, he called the piggies for me & informed them of the same. I had no problem after that. Keep in mind this was in MY situation, your mileage will vary, especially with a search warrant involved things might be different. I know for sure that they have to specify all buildings & vehicles on the property, had a friend get some of his charges dismissed because the warrant was only for the house & not the barn out back, this was a mistake on there part & not one they usually make.

If you can't find somewhere else & you have big trees on your property tie that shit in a bundle & then take some rope & hoist it up in a tree. Had a friend who used to always stash his p's in a big 50' oak, cops looked like fools after that warrant, nobody ever looks up in the trees, I think I'm going to fuck around with tree growing this year
