I have been inactive on here for awhile. I pretty much dialed in my genetics, pre 98 bubba, schrom, sweet skunk. Then I worked my ass off all last summer, couldn't keep up. Lost everything except bubba. Long story, not all my fault, etc.
So I am back on my game. I expanded from the original 4x10 grow box and added a 10x5 spot in a spare room.
I run air cooled hoods, sealed, using co2. In the bedroom I dont use a/c, and have a more elaborate duct system.
I am growing a lot of strains. After I lost schrom I got antsy, and went to the local dispensary. Their clones are OK, but they treat them like shit.
Pre 98 Bubba, Critical Mass (from seed, old stock from mendo), green crack, hindu skunk, hindu kush, gods bud, maui wowie (supposedly), SS OG (whatever the fuck that means), kryptonite, casey jones.
So here it is. This isn't my final grow ever, but the last one in this location. I need to move. Either staying in this town, or moving on to grad school. I actually want a career and I have a degree and great experience but this economy is fucked. So this is what I do.

First, the original grow box.
This is the right side, featuring mostly bubba, at day 45ish
and a close up

and the left side with a bunch of different strains

And onto the new garden room

and more, left and right side

More to follow....

And here are the more update photos, from yesterday.

And back to the original grow box....

Some more specific plant shots
GDP

And some maui wowies

critical mass

hindu skunk looking nice

I am happy with it. the maui wowie used up a lot of N faster than i expected.
the gdp also stretched out way more than i expected.

considering that this is the first time i have grown all of these (except bubba), it is going very well.
critical mass smells orangey, and is really dense.
gods bud thickened out fast, but compared to everything else the resin content is lacking. but it will be done fast.

And now some elaboration on the ducting on the garden room.
There are 2 fans, one drives the air cooled 8" hoods, other drives the filter.
I run co2, and a dehumidifier (which increases heat)
So I added an electronic controlled damper and some duct splitters, that are straight over all but have an angled split, so its not a true Y split.
The damper allows air to flow through the filer, into the duct run on the lighting, and outside of the room. All intakes are passive.
I built a box in the window that allow me to plug in ducting, splitting the intake and exhaust areas to minimize exchange between the two.
preventing light coming in through the ducting has been an issue, so I added some light baffles from the outside that the fans can blast out of the way. I should have used passive dampers.
I changed the ducting to insulated, that is not very reflective on the inside, and added a 90 degree aluminum piece on the intake end, and lined that piece with black poly. so no light can bounce around through the duct and out the hoods, which was an issue.

Here are some pics... filter is hung on the ceiling. the aluminum ducting can be see. On the air exchange component it goes like this:
Fliter-fan-splitter (one side open to room, other end with electronic damper, and that end then connect to the air cooled duct run)

The damper timer is staggered with the co2 timer, so that it changes the air out right before the co2 comes on. It also runs during lights off.
My current environmental conditions are: 81 degrees and 65% rh. Right before the lights come on, the temp is 62 and rh is down near 50. And I am happy with that.

Some notes on my soil:
Promix HP, 10% EWC (my usual low RH makes extra perlite not needed)
In veg, I go straight from rooted clones, to 1 gal pots. That are amended with marine cuisine, some dolomite lime, and a dash of bone meal.
I veg under t5s, and for the garden room i used the 1ks.
I transplant from the 1 gal into 5 gal pots. I used an equal mix of marine cuisine and FF fruit and flower, adding extra bone meal and some lime. I let them veg in those large containers for at least 2 weeks, until i see that the root system has filled the pot out enough to allow for serious growth. Then i flip em.
And i prune, pretty heavily.
for feeding, i dont do it unless they are root bound in the veg pots, and then after a week of 12/12
i use PBP grow, bloom, sensical, some seaweed, molasses. later in flower i one use EJ bloom, EJ meta K, and molasses. I have been adding more N in flower, it seems to be OK. And then i flush hard at the very end.
it usually burns to a nice white ash when cured.

Thank you. I am actually hypercritical on canopy efficiency. It can always be better. I am hoping that the garden room efficiency will be higher.
I will get some more close up macro type shots in a bit. Good on the plant macros take some set up to do properly, getting the right lighting, and getting a tripod in place to get it.
After almost a week with the new ventilation setup, it is working very very well. I just rested my digital thermometer to log my high and low temps and RH. But qualitatively, the condensation that was a problem is gone, even on the air exchange box that is not insulated. So that is a big step.

GDP is a beast

enjoy. I forgot to label the plants, but it is 55-58 days, maybe 60.
most are in flush mode now.

I tried to get more close up shots. I rearranged most of them for better light exposure and I had to tie up most of them.
Maui wowie. It had the best lighting and easiest to get to

And GDP

I will get more close up shots when i water again.

They are all a little taller than I would have liked, but not by much. I like more branchy plants that stretch in flower. I find if you just prune them up on day 1 12/12 and let them stay in the same spot, they fill in nicely.
The grow box was not my ideal set up, i had no clue what would stretch out. Had I topped the GDP it could be more even. next watering I am going to attempt to do a good draining flush, water the plants over a larger container, let 1/4 gallon run out.

The garden room is at day 26, stretch has been done for around a week, buds are set. now they are on PBP bloom for soil, calmag, molasses and some EJ bloom, which takes over as the main food near the end.
They are still going through a lot of water, every 2 days they get 3/4 of a gallon. It is more work but I think it will help prevent any Ca issues and allow me to control the nutrients better.

Next set of pics will come in a few days, and I will try to throw in something for scale, most likely a bottle of beer.

Thanks for the kind words.
Oh and the bubba kush is starting to come down. Some are not my best, some were over vegged and had some feeding issues. They still look good.

If the buds taste as good as that 60 Minute IPA, I will be elated.
If you haven't had 60 minute IPA from Dogfish Head, you need to try it. More drinkable than the 90 minute IPA, different taste, less malty, lower alcohol. Those two are the kings of IPA.
Hopefully for my next pics I will have a bottle of Pliny the Elder.

check the 10x loupe today, most trichs are cloudy and swollen, even on those ones that are still insisting on making new calyxs.
i will be patient.

And here was have the garden room, which was flipped on 2/14. I am calling it the valentines day harvest.
Day 50.
Green crack is starting to turn, lots of hairs going red.
Critical mass has a few red hairs. Very few for bubba.
I also took some pollen from a critical mass male and pollinated some lower buds on green crack, bubba and critical mass. I marked all of the buds I pollinated so i can find em later.

I spent an hour adding supports for many of the plants, they are flopping over big time. Which is great.
And on to the photos.
All of the close ups are green crack.

Mostly critical mass

Canopy

bubba

green crack

Any questions?
