Is it worth the risk to bring back Afghani landraces from a deployment?

Most who talk to others like that, wouldn't do so without the anonymity of the Internet. An interesting breed, the "Internet Tough Guy"...

I didn't know Alien Tech. came from Afghan. genes, interesting.

OP, if I was in your place, I'd DEFINITELY get some seeds home! :tiphat:

If you guys take the time........he has not posted in this thread since BEFORE he went to deploy in 2009.

He might not be alive any more and if he is I doubt the seeds were that big of a deal for him.

Just got out of the military. Well I wouldn't eat them, considering my last trip home from Afghanistan took 6 full days with the Army. Honestly The inspections and such when you re-deploy to the states are a joke. We could have smuggled artillery rounds in our con-ex if we had wanted to. The most they ever did was look at our stuff. They didn't check any pockets or even any of the small containers. Don't make the same mistake I did and not get any, you will have plenty of chances if you are going to be outside of BAF or whatever FOB the may stick you on.

On a side note do yourself a favor and get the hell out before someone stupid gets you killed.

I'm more than happy to provide authentic seeds from the area-as soon as we leave-when will that be again?

Listen.....u absolutely should bring some home. Find the stinkiest largest healthiest plants u can..and take seed off them. Label each plant seperate.

Whats important is takeing steps.....to secure thm frm not being detected. Isnt as hard as it seems..lookat ur equipment...cameras..etc pens..tooth paste, worse case scenerio....keister those bad boys.

Ive got a WOT paki..came home the same way..... seems the northen area's are regarded higher for some reason..find that old school ghani skunk bro........and bring it home.

Watch pockets above the main pocket on the front of pants. Open a few stitches in the hem of something, insert seeds and re-stitch.

what you could do is just drop them at the bottom of your bag/luggage. had friends doing this, coming back from guatemala and costa rica and going through us customs and nothing happened. just drop them loose

I had a friend busted that way coming into hawaii from thailand.

all he had to do was sign a form and they let him go though.

I wouldnt worry about it

Sorry Water i am not sure i got it right. Your friend was found with seeds in his bag and after that the officers made him sign a form to release him? Had he been detained somewhere? Did they find the seeds in his bag? Did they confiscate the seeds? Sorry about all these questions but i am genuinely interested in this as my gf wants to go to hawaii this summer and i was already thinking to ask her to bring me some presents back :) i'm going somewhere else this summer.

If you haven't figured it out and weighted the risk then don't do it.

You might find yourself in a questionable position and crumble. The question is how many... and if its many then how.

You ever gone to the beach and just find sand everywhere? Seeds are small. Just don't hide them so well that they are obvious.

You know they sell nut mixes with hemp seeds for protein. The real question is how many! It can take 100 seeds to find that special plant.

10 seeds might not be enough... or it could be enough to make a small population at home.

you can go so many ways. If you are a pussy please don't risk it.

i agree with SICE when it says "don't hide them so well so that they are obvious" or else you won't ass un-noticed ;)

As a Veteran..... it’s worth the risk. They won’t check you like you think they do. Moral of story. It’s happened many many many times before and will continue to. I brought some back that ended up being trash but others have had great success. Alien tech being a major example.

I agree with some recent posts asserting the thread is so ancient, it's likely the OP has either died, is hunkered down in a cave near Tora Bora, or found Jesus in a fox hole during a nightmarish fire-fight, and left the weed behind forever...

That all aside, other than for specific high intensity borders/customs check-points that primarily do cavity searches on specific groups/demographics, the ol' doubled condom containing seran-wrapped goodies, and used as a suppository, is as successful as many can get. Just don't eat maltitol or other artificial sweeteners that double as laxatives while en route to said check points. Always a bad move... Pun intended.

For a long time, years ago, Black women returning from Jamaica through Georgia, NYC, and Florida were often being subjected to body cavity searches, but most places, in my experience, avoid such intricacies.

Wrap tightly in seran wrap a couple times, place carefully inside a condom, pushing any trapped air out the condom opening, tying a knot, then using that knot as a 'stop' for subsequent second, third, and maybe fourth knots. Then clip the 'collar'/ring/rim from the first condom, and place the knot end first inside a second condom, and repeat process. Use as many layers as you think you need to.

KY helps in placement, but clean up the mess, lest it leave tell-tale hints.
