Very Berry Surprise... anyone remeber these?

I recently started 2 VBS beans, the last 2 I had which were a gift from a fellow IC'er and I'm very pleased with what I got. I remember growing a few out years ago and the colors, aromas and flavors I experienced are still standouts. Here's a few pics of the lil freaks...

both came out very purple from the outset and then surprised me when they slowed completely and appeared to have stopped growing only to throw out 2 sets of leaves each. Now they are both double headed freaks and moving along really fast and I can't wait to see what kind of colors they throw during flower. I can't say the smoke was anything to remember other than for it's lack of strength although it did taste very very nice... anyone here remember these? and if so, did you get any double headed pheno's?

i do remember these...

mine were all female.

decent smoke, too.

maybe time for you to repot those pretty ladies...

I also remember these .... i got them as a freebee from the bay 5yrs ago ... all female & some turned purple.... i dont remember any doubles though, but did keep the most green pheno for a couple years.... very unique smell & taste...

Hope you find a winner

I am really happy to have 2 freaks as the freaks are often the plants that blow the others out of the water. They're growing very rapidly and I'm transplanting them into 15ltr hempy's tomorrow. will keep you all updated as I remember the they were some amazing looking plants and I'm sure some people here would like to see some true purple buds. Thanks for the replies guys.

I would also like to find out more about "Fruity Sativa" of which was made by reddy1. The "Fruity Sativa" are supposed to be: c99 x orange bud and c99 x blackberry, 2 different crosses mixed into one bag of beans.

RL, very berry isn't mine but that mix pack of mine has a few gems to be found. tall, very frosty, decent yield and tropical fruity smells. as expected about 50% have a noticeable pineapple scent and 25% had a distinctive orange scent, the rest were skunky fruity, <10% will purple in any temp. the more the indica traits the less c99 i saw. around 65 days indoor flowering. nice daytime high. weak limbs long thin leafs mold proof and caution mites love them too. mid october outdoor finish. made with wallyduck F1s circa 2008. pics are on a drive that i can't get working, ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR FILES!! that's about all i have on it. hope you grow them. here's some feedback i got....

The 2 plants I ended up with have been pollinated with with a 50sat/50indi DJ male I don't know the origin of, just that I was given the beans by a friend and past grows of the strain led me to think it'd be I nice match for the VBS. I'll keep this thread updated as things progress. Most of the females from the seed I obtained the male from had a beautiful purple towards the end of flower given cold temps and a few stayed green regardless but all had purpling of their stems to some degree from seed and the smoke was amazing, uplifting and euphoric, most likely flo but my mate isn't all that good at keeping track of things but just growing them out his claim that they were one of DJ's strains he'd F2'd is, in my mind and experince on the money. Will have pics soon of both the VBS fems and the male I used to pollinate them aswell as some paradise Ice cream. Very much looking forward to the resulting offspring of both crosses.

I will be searching out some Gems within "Fruity Sativa". Any distinct way to tell which are fathered by Blackberry when they are coming along?

Thank You for chiming in with your information as the breeder of "Fruity Sativa". It is greatly appreciated.

reddy1, in your "Fruity Sativa" which one would you say leans towards the blackberry if I obtained 2 males from the c99 x orange bud and c99 x blackberry and one male is wispy, thin stock, thin leaves and the other is thick stock, wider leaves?
