In another thread you posted some monster hoods you built a while ago..

You said they were built out of corrugated plastic.. I'm imagining the material those bulk postal baskets are made of... How did that not melt when you used it? Am I thinking of hte wrong thing?

Was the mylar enough...?

the walls hanging off the hoods that formed the tunnel
hoods are aluminum
which, after the excitement of finding them, i recall, i despise reflectors
the hold a bunch of heat IMO
don't think the bulbs would melt mylared corrugated if used as a reflector w a decent amount of space and air flow.
I can get a plant pretty damn close to the bare bulb...

just read all 7 pages n loved every one of em! lol.. you have a great way of writing bro..

garden look lovely! the only criticism i have is i dont believe you have enuf veg light, your plants look bit thin n strchy.. i knw you run vert n strchy to a point is good but add another 600 or even a 400 mh would do n your plants will be a lot stronger n more thick stemmed.. not having a dig more like constructed criticism..

i see you use teas, just getting into the whole true organics myself, at my 3rd crop using same soil, other than ewc what else do you use?? look forward to making your aquaitance .. all the best... c

Mr Cheese: Which veg plants are you looking at? the freshies in my flower room? or the moms? The moms are bushy crazy, I have a few strains, the Headband, the OG's and the Haze cross that are reeally lanky no matter where I put them under a light. Because the original setup was a bit in-adequate there was alot of bunching that caused most the stretch. My others are very nodey and srong stem cuttings. I rarely have "soft stem" cuttings, which s what I usually get if cloning from an underside or cleaning. Bull ghani haze is a stetch lanky, dissappointing looking plant untill late flower than BOOM, she explodes. OG's not too fond of, phasing them out. Headband I cant get to tighten up either, but she happened to start at a disadvantage deep in the veg area. Shes been pruned back a few times and is getting bushier
I think those are what you are seeing thats setting off that "alarm" of lanky.
I really couldnt effectively use lankyness in the clone production im doing, they just dont hold up in the dome well, epecially as tall as I take some of them
The recent additions to the flower side were WAY underlit AND lanky genes so they are basically sticks with a few fans on em.

Right now Im feeding a buffett of old nutes because I have them. Was going strictly organic but hit them with a dose of Sensi Bloom because Im familiar with its stability, and my plants were getting pH -off. Thats the only inorganic in my mix. Rainbow bloom gets mixed into my used soil and it sits in the yard under a tarp and gets tossed a few times before I reuse.
Thinkin of tossin in the soil and goin hydro a few runs......

thanks for stoppin and for friggs sake, thanks for postin!!

I agree its not enough to really get a good veg, but it holds the moms pretty nicely paced for my needs. I will need an extra 400 to veg the perpetual project fo sho.
Was also thinking, that bulb I have in the veg side is from 2005 or so. Just occurred to me today
Prolly might wana start thinkin about puttin that up on the list of money things

Well there's this too

Could this be why my Magnetic 6 wont fire???

The new arrangement of fans worked wonders.

Kept the front of the veg box open ended as shown, 6in odor sok up top pullin out and an oscillating fan not oscillating inside to move air

The large odor sok went into the flower room, open ended just recirculating

down stairs is the Big Blue Ozone eatin up the little stink particles

Petty much just ozone and the imbeded grease stank that has always leaked into the office from the auto body shop next door. I have since sealed up the culprit leaks but the funk remains. At least, that's m interpretation of my own stank
someone knockin might think different
