you see a man in street clothes moving with purpose toward the scene with an assault rifle.

im my opinion any dumbass 21 yo is still a kid.. the kid wasnt right in the head and died. his family never thought there 21 would die before them..

but a cop lives by the guy and his family knows that.. so its less of a shock when it happends..

the 21 yo didnt have the right to do what he did but it seemed more like a cry for help than a suicide by cop attempt..

2. Police evacuate parents or anyone else from house..

3. House surrounded and entrances covered...body armour/knife/flack jackets worn by Police...

4. Police attempt at negotiating with knifeman and interview parents as to the mental state of knifeman and whether or not there are any other weapons, firearms in house.

5. If knifeman does not surrender, tear-gas/smoke could be used thru window into house to flush him out.....

6. If/when knifeman is flushed out and continues to be agressive a tazer/pepper spray or minimal force (bullet in leg e.t.c.) could be used if knifeman has not become gunman....

*This would probably be the scenario in a country such as the U.K. since ordinary Police are not armed with firearms....but are required to wear knife proof jackets....

Not that I am aware of. All of the martial arts training that I've gone through preached that if you go hand-to-hand with an edged weapon, you may prevail but you are going to get cut. As I stated in an earlier post, inside 21 feet a knife is considered more lethal than a gun.

I dont claim to have any actual experience with this but I dont anyone could cover such a distance before I could pull the trigger.

if the cops had time to fire 7 times and they werent injuried. they coulda shot seven times aiming at his legs.. if they were backing up as they shot maybe more..

im sorry but its a fact that they didnt try to make things less servere, i understand things happend fast but its still just a waste of life, and waste of tax payers money..

sorry if i offended anyone by getting worked up about the topic, but hearing story after story of cops killing people works me up to say the least ive had my number of run ins with the law and im proud to be a canadian.. the police dont treat everyone like they are armed and dangerous here, its coming but thats why ill be moving further up north..
