Exactly what I was thinking. Silva has fought at 205, which is Jon's weight class. And he dominated just like he does at 185. Would easily be fight of the year in my eyes

OK Jones beat the fuck out of Shogun and won the title. lets not get ahead of ourselves here calling for Anderson to move up or Fedor to move down. the kid has talent. we already knew that. let him defend the belt three times, then get back to me on this. he got through Shogun, now hes staring down the barrel of the entire 205 pound division.

He is a big fighter. Hes thick, but his ridiculously long arms and legs make him look a bit thin - although he still looks thicker than most of his opponents. Looks like an oversized LHW for me.
Regarding him being an asshole, I encourage everyone to consider the fact that the way you appear when you have a camera in your face can change you alot. The guys are doing an awesome job and are articulate, and have to answer questions unprepared (and right after they have performed extremely physically draining work). That, and the fact that global recognition can piss you the fuck off. This is why I dislike interviews; they bust every fighters balls and probably piss them off enough to make them seem as assholes.

i would love to see anderson get his face smashed in by jones' elbows. cocky SOB needs to get beat up, plus GO american fighters! we might be falling behind in every other category, but we can still go toe to toe with the world.
did anyone notice the long speech anderson gave after his last fight? what was that about? he knows it has to be translated.

Would be an entertaining fight but Silva would get dominated by Jones just like Shogun. That being said i think all the elite 205ers have a chance but it's an uphill battle, Jones is just too big. Just imagine brock lesnar fighting at 205...he doesn't have great technique but just the sheer size would be a problem for everyone of them. Btw Silva walks around at 230lbs, he's actually a fairly big LHW who fights at MW.
If i could have a fight tho it would be Shogun against Silva...actually there's a lot of fighters in LHW who could beat Silva but they'd all be sick fights one way or another.
Watch out for Phil Davis, by the time he makes it to a title shot he might be ready. He's got a big enough reach (79.5") to nullify a lot of the size disadvantage and is a similar breed of fighter.
Barboza looked good, agreed. That kick at the bell may've saved him the fight.
But I really don't think Aoki can compete with the top-of-the-heap the 155'ers. I think Edgar would smash him, Griffin would smash him, Maynard, .. Anyone who's a decent striker and a strong wrestler, Aoki will have problems with.
Did you see his gimmick-y fight on NYE!? Oy vey..

Just watched UFC 128 was well impressed with Jon bones Jones he looked a different class. Him against silva would be a good fight. Dont think Bisping would last a round against him. I'd like to see Roger Gracie concentrate more on MMA reckon he would be unstoppable if he got hold of anybody.

Well, sadly (or not) Strikefarce was bought out by Zuffa. What this means for the Challengers and Full Strikeforce cards on Showtime - Who knows.
What I DO know is TOMORROW on Showtime M-1 Global will be on like DK.
I will be in attendance conducting fighter interviews as well as enjoying the show overall. A few of my buddies will be fighting on the undercard as well as a main card appearance by Beau 'Blackjack' Baker. I cant WAIT!!!!

AG, from everything ive read on the whole situation, Zuffa is making small tweaks in strikeforce now. it sounds like they are going to wait to make major changes until all the contractual obligations of strikeforce have been fulfilled.
case in point. Zuffa has insisted that SF conform with the unified rules of MMA. this means allowing elbows on the ground. from some recent reading, i see they're starting to cull the amateur bouts. while this may hurt up and coming fighters exposure...a major promotion is no place for amateur MMA bouts. amateurs are amateurs for a reason, and thats why there are smaller shows.
im not trying to hate on up and coming fighters, but theres minor leagues out there....and they arent operating for their health.
