Purple Kush Issues...

I have two PK clones, in their first week in flowering.
The pistils are prematurely drying, and turning brown.

I had this same issue way back in 98 with Bubbelberry, & I can't remember what I did to solve this problem.
For some reason I keep thinking possibly an Iron deficiency???

Grow Specs...
150 H.P.S

FFOF soil, with added perlite, Worm Castings, Bio Live.

Nutrients...
Bio Grow/Bloom
GH Florishious

TEMPS...
high temp 83 F
Low temp 71 F

Humidity...
High 53%
Low 34%

I also have 6 Raspberry Cough's in the exact same conditions and there is nothing wrong with them.

We had same problems with the first Purple Kush clone we ran,, had to harvest early and write it off. Other PK clones later with healthier root systems grew just fine.

check water pH

what up stoney917,
Thanks for a reply. There is absolutely no way there could be pollen floating around.
These cuttings are pest & mildew free, as I made the cuttings my self.
I am pretty confident, the FFOF is fine, because I have 6 Raspberry Cough cuttings in the same soil, and looking awesome.
Peace

Thanks DocLeaf,
I'll check the H2O2 first thing tomorrow morning.
They overall look healthy, It's just where the flowers are forming, the pistils are withered, and no new pistils are showing.

Peace

Whats the PH of the water going in and the PH of the runoff?

The deficiencies that affect new growth (tips) are micros like zinc and iron. They normally get locked out by high PH. Also I've read that excess of Potassium can interfere with the availability of copper and zinc.

I've been dealing with this since the city changed our water source for the spring. I watered with PH adjusted water only and in a couple days they looked good. Then next time I fed some fish hydro tea and 4-5 days later I'm seeing this again. Still figuring it out.

I will check the H2O2 PH before & after watering.

My problem is, I have 6 Raspberry Cough's that are growing perfect.
Only the PK is doing this, and last grow, I had a Casey Jones that did the exact same thing as the PK, :dunno:

I'll Keep this updated until I figure out what's going on.

Not sure myself, but the detective in me wants to say its an environmental issue. Since it happened to another strain last grow, i would think of the raspebrry being immune to whatever the issue, but something seriousness enough that it will effect other strains. Wish i could help more, i always find it interesting when some plants are effected and other are not. I assume you are feeding them the same nute recipe?

What up inreplyavalon,
Ya, I still haven't figured out the problem.
Yes I'm using the same Nutrients(BioBiz Grow/Bloom, and dosage.
All potted from the same bag of FFOF.
I have grown out quite a few different strains with no problems.
Strawberry Cough,SweetTooth,Bubbelishious,Lavender,Hashberry,& Raspberry Cough....
only ones that show this is the Casey Jones, & now Purple Kush.

This is what the Casey Jones looked like....

Looks like the Purple Kush, is going to have the same problem as my CJ had.

Went and picked up some GH PH up/down, see if it does anything.
