For those who have booked a flight/hotel and are still going to Amsterdam...

We can meet, organize ourselves, arrange tours and other events in Amsterdam and of course we can go to any coffee shop and enjoy a good smoke.

However, ICMAG CANNOT accept submissions, hand out judge's packs, or have an awards ceremony. The information we have received has led us to believe that is simply not going to be safe for people participating in the Cup.

I'm sorry, but sadly I cannot elaborate on it any more at this time.

My hope is that this thread can help us figure out an alternative that I would be more than happy to personally organize and personally attend. I will do my best to try and make it up to those that have already booked their flights as best I can.

Any and all suggestions are welcome in this thread and will be considered, but please remember this is now an informal gathering and any and all cannabis consumption must be done strictly in full compliance and accordance with Dutch law.

WTF happened? I was going to be in Achen around then an take a train to Amsterdam to check things out, is this a terrorist thing? Or just a bunch of stoners that cannot get their act together, man this was going to be my 1st time in Amsterdam and "any" cup. bleahhhh

The most important thing is for people to get together and enjoy their time in the dam. While it is a major disappointment for me, and all those who were helping, we spent a great deal of time and effort with it's planning and organization, but I also appreciate Gypsy looking out for what's best, and accept it.

Any trip to the Dam is fun!! This might be the chance of a life time for you folks to meet and mingle without the burded of a judges pack. It is almost too much to smoke in a short period of time. Im sure there will be some tasty sample there!! You will actualy have time to see the city!!!

attitude like that mate prob best you arn't gonna be there.

been 2 years in a row never entered or judged before but met alot of great like minded people and sampled various excellent smokes offered to me.

Only difference for me this year is I planned harvest better so I would have smoke to enter and spare to take with me to share around and return favours. Now I've just got more to share around!

Really sad to hear this news, but better to hear it, and a month in advance than closer to the day...

It is a really busy time of year at work for me, but I would still like to pop over if I can just to see people and have a good smokeout there with everybody.

Moving the whole 420 Cup to Spain could be a good idea, the whole scene here is very relaxed and currently there is Zero LEO budget for investigating "Plant Criminals" especially those who stay well within the very generous confines of Spanish Law. Madrid, Barcelona and most major cities have cannabis clubs running and are seeing zero Police problems.

Spannabis has a "cup" ... LOL.. it is invisible, as far as I can work out it is well hidden and just for a few invited Judges and is not free for anybody to enter. However it is a damn good show and smokeout, a few friends and ICers came over here a month ago for the smokeout and fun, next year there should be more people and we will be running an unofficial smokeshare/test/report for them.


The Alacannabis cup, run by the Alicante Cannabis Association is a proper cup, been running for years and is growing every year. 2011 sees a 3 day event with camping, bands etc...

Looks great, missed it last year, going down there this year for certain, anybody needing help or advice for that, just PM me...

the main thing is to have a base somewhere that we all know we can hook up at, then we could still rent that boat from those guys and do a canal tour. are there any concerts going on around then? what about going to visit Nol in Harlem. he has been a great host for us in the past. also nothing stopping us from organizing a bike tour coffee shop crawl.

I agree. I would be lying to say I am not bummed about not being able to judge but life goes on and really it is less work for me to do and I can truly just relax and spend more time on other activities. I see it as a celebration first!
