Mine is a fan that has come from grow show to grow even when I got busted they left it behind 18 inch high velocity it's 12 years old...

Thought this might make for a bit of a trip down memory lane for some people :)

i've got a couple of pieces of hand me down, hand me down, hand me down equipment. just had to retire an old school ballast that was from the early 90s, all the components were replaced, but the case for it was a dinosaur. it was upright, about 14" tall with a handle on top. also a couple of sun system hoods that are tiny.

(1) each - 400 watt hps and metal halide ballasts with home made open parabolic reflectors, and (2) modular flood and drain systems (stacked tubs w/pumps and reservoirs). All from 1983. Shit, I just realized that I have equipment that is probably older than most of the contributors on here.

no really grow gear but ive had the same pair of colapsing sewing scissors ive had in my rolling kit forever, and i still have my first stash tin i got 15 years ago.. (im only 27)

as for grow equipement oldest thing would probly be my greenthumb... ive always gotten shit second hand used or hand me downs,, i dont believe in needing new shit if what you have isnt broke.. old school... my bulbs are even old 3-4-5 years lol but im still hitting good numbers.. but after this crop ill be going with brand new hortilux bulbs everywhere...

If you've been running a magnetic ballast for 5 years or longer I would really want to think about swapping out capacitors.

That being said the oldest piece of equipment I own is a set of soil sieves my grandfather built around 1935. Got a really nice pipe from him as well before he passed.

You might not want to use that fan!!!
About a week ago, I woke up in the morning, go to open the growroom door,, BAMM!! Intense burning smell, having just woke up, I'm like WTF is that smell. I look over at my 10+ year oscelating fan, the plastic shroud was melting and dripping molten plastic onto my carpet!!!!!! Thing was about to burst into flames!!! THANK GOD I was home!!!
After that, I told myself I'm replacing fans ever 5 years!!!!

Old thread... I'm addicted to reading this forum tho.. I learn a lot.
I've got a solatel light controller that's at least 20 years old..I Inherited from a buddy who was retiring. The thing sucks it only has an internal timer so anytime the power flickers it starts over.... If the lights went out at 7pm n the power flickers at 7:01 u get another 12 hrs of light.
I'm glad they have since come up with trigger cords for light controllers
