I have a cabinet that I am going to make into a flowering cab,and I want to know what kind of lights I should put in there.

52" wide
24 1/2" deep
48 " tall

Length = 52" = 4.3 ft.
Width = 24" = 2 ft.

Area = 4.3ft. x 2ft. = 8.6 ft.^2

Recommended Watts/Ft.^2 = 50 Watts/ft.^2

Watts for your space = (50 Watts/ft.^2) x (8.6f ft.^2) = 430 Watts

There you have it.

Maybe two 250 Watters evenly spaced out would be money in there. Vertical tubes if possible. Grow around them.

Unless you go another route, but with the 4 feet of height, you might want HPS for penetration.

Why not. 400 in the middle and supplement CFLs as side lighting. Would work great IMO. Cooling is the challenge. How do you figure to do that? 6 inch vortex in-line?

I am about to start a build roughly the same size. At least you got a good frame to start with.

How much of that space are you going to dedicate to utility room? or are going to have everything mounted outside of the cab?

what makes you think you need that much light for such a small space? my space is the same as yours but 1 foot shorter i use a single 70w hps. had a 70+50 in there before. but really 150 would be enough for that little box. 400 seems like way overkill. plus cfl's too? jesus. i didnt see 52" wide at first. 150 should still be enough for that with a couple 4ft tubes on either side.

I dont know what happened to my 400,I just looked for it in my storage and its not there,I might have to use only cfls for now.

I finally added some lights to the cab build, three 4 light bathroom vanitys. I think I am going to put 42 watt bulbs in there.

2 150w should be great for that size. any bigger and you'll have heat issues

You could do the 400 with a proper fan, no worries. Depends on your need for stealth.
Twin 150's or 250's would be sweet based on the footprint area, but just a single hps with cfls for side lighting and additional spectrum would also kill.

id think 2 150w hps lamps would work fine.

This, you want close to 50 Watts per square foot. You don't need it but your buds will love it. Just takes proper cooling. Two 150s will give better efficacy than one 400W, just less penetration. But with 3-4 feet of room to grow, penetration isn't really necessary. The 150s should do fine.

I don't have much experience picking out exhaust, I just over compensate and dial my fans down.

I'd say a 6" S&P TD150X would do the 400 in a cool tube/hood just fine. The Stanley blower has been used very sucessfully on several 400 cabs and closet grows.
You could probably get by with your 4" vortex for twin 150s or a HPS/CFL hybrid. I have a 100X on low, cooling a 150 plus 170W of CFL and I run 4-5F over ambient, very quietly I might add.
