I'm not sure, I'm thinking OG and maybe Blue Dream. I'm not sure how well sativa plants will do with a dep. My entire season isn't certain right now, as it's looking I'm not going to be able to do anything big at all. I'm hoping to do a couple plant dep and maybe a few more plants later in the season. It's all for personal use, I won't need a whole lot so I'm wanting to run elite strains only.
On the other hand, I've invested in some great compost and my veggie garden is going to be amazing, with a couple smokeable plants mixed in hopefully.
I've never tried light dep outdoors, so I welcome any advice I can get from experienced dep people.

Ive got 16 mothers of headband 707 that are 5 feet tall right now. Once I take one more round of cuttings off them Im going to throw them outside in a greenhouse on april 1st. Im hoping they will flower all the way to june 1st without having to light dep them. any experts in this field of early spring flowering?

putting a tarp over a greenhouse to reduce the light cycle to 12 hours. forces them to flower when there is still more then 12 hours of light outside. This way you can have outdoor finish in the middle of the summer.

not going to work. the length of your days depends on your latitude. in northern california an outdoor plant without a tarp over it would probably starting reverting to veg in early/mid may. wait for more light dep experts to chime in but you'd probably be best to start pulling that tarp on may 1st.

What I got going
What I got going
This is my first year outdoor and didn't really have any info on light dep, but i knew from a few years of indoor experience that with 12 hours of light they would flower. So i built a little light dep enclosure out of PVC and panda film and gave it a go. So far its been going great!
These 4 Started 12 hours of light using the light dep at 3/28 with about 10 days before without light dep where they received about 13 hours of light. They came from 18 hours of HID lighting indoor so it was a nice transition. The Mendo and Bubba didn't veg long enough but I just needed to get something out ASAP so they went i have more of all strains well vegged now and ready to go out once these are done, so sorry for puny flowers, but they are just as beautiful.

These will be going in the tent as soon as their is room. I may get trash cans to put over them to prevent them from going into veg. Does anyone know if i hit 14 hours of light will they start to re-veg? Anyways heres two more MK x PK and one of the backyard watch keepers:

Hope You enjoy. I'm stoked to find some more light deppers out there. I wanted to give this a shot at first because I needed cannabis ASAP because I just had my spine refused 2 weeks ago and couldn't wait till normal harvest times for my own medicine supply and indoor is out of the picture for my situation right now. This can be very productive though. I'm stoked on the possibility of so many harvests of year because i'm in a very dry climate.

Do you guys have any strains you guys can recommend for the outdoor light dep set up and have pain relief and nausea medicinal effects? As I said i have no prior experience outdoors. The only other strains I have at the moment are LA Confidential (one of my favs hence my username), Master Kush and Salmon Creek Big Bud. The SCBB I know would do great in this set up, but the effects don't fit my medical needs which are of major attention right now, although i may do one for fun

I just put out a gang of TW X MTF, DC X ECSD(Nspecta), Strawd X tw (H&L), chemd X sdibl (rez) and a tray of Kromes White clones. and Strawberry Diesel (Cocktail frank) they are already under supp lighting and getting hardened off with 50% shade cloth in 30 gallon smart pots as we speak. ... IM not counting on this .. More just testing the waters to see how it goes.. FWIW.. Im using a Costco parking structure and Forever Flowering Fabric.

lets see here the light dep.. we have Super Lemon Haze , Casey Jones, Blue Moon Rocks, and lambsbread. .. i believe thats this years line up over here

Well it says shes a 10 week'er i am gonna be keepin an eyes on the prize and wait for some color. there going in that depp so we make sure they finish along with that lambsbread. plus the uv intensity at in summer will make flowering outdoors , some quite FROSTY expierence
