LST'ing outdoor?

Shakti

New member
With the purpose of maximising yield considering I have no height constraints

Should I LST my Sativa's?
If yes what shape is the best to aim for outdoor?
How many main colas should I expect/try to get?
Doesn't lst'ing increase risk of structural instability and snapping stems under weight of colas?
Has anyone tried scrogging outdoors at an angle to spread the budsites evenly regarding sunlight? It seems this would eliminate worries about snapping branches and reduce risk of eventual stormdamage too?

Thanks for any advice

i always lst

just open the plants and pull as many branches horizontally of ypu can , you have to keep doing this every few weeks

you should also make a cage for your plant for the instabulity and to prevent a storm from destroying your plant

scrogging outdoors also works well , but you have to plan it so you do it 2-3 weeks before the flowering starts

I am trying a scrog outside this year. I have never tried before, but have the basics of what i need to do. I thought about using an old volleyball net to keep the main stem down and do a lot of LSTing to surrounding small tree's. I was ripped last year so they know my grow area now. This is why i thought about the scrog as i can do 3 or 4 plants and get a nice yield with it well hidden.

I will do a thread on it:wave:

haha outdoor scrog nice.

Considering my friend is getting 3-4 oz's per plant inside, i should pull 3-4 lb's from my re vegged plants.................but it going to be a tough grow. Gotta keep it as low as i can, i got ripped last year, they took 1 purple plant and all my tops from the re veg's. But i still got an on yield, but with re veg's scroged i can get more. It will be hard to tie them down for me though as i use a chair, but il figure it out.............

Should I LST my Sativa's? Yes, sat's LOVE to be bent, just not too hard, else they can throw manners.

If yes what shape is the best to aim for outdoor? Flat, covering the biggest area possible. Not to low to the ground (ventilation)

How many main colas should I expect/try to get? Use the main cola branches for the training, or simply top the middle cola branch and let the others catch up like this

Doesn't lst'ing increase risk of structural instability and snapping stems under weight of colas? Yes, thus allow for enough height and reinforce as/if needed.

Has anyone tried scrogging outdoors at an angle to spread the budsites evenly regarding sunlight? It seems this would eliminate worries about snapping branches and reduce risk of eventual stormdamage too? I've seen people using the metal skeleton of an old bed to scrog outdoors, that was crazy!

Well this worked great. I started this purple in a 5 gal, but seemed like it out grew it. So i put the plant in the ground sideways and let her go. I could have tied her down, but knew the branch growth would grow up first. And every branch turned into cola looking growth. Was the best plant iv grown, then it was taken, robbed, ripped.........I was pissed as they took the top's of all my re vegged monsters and it was my p.

Anyway a good Fim gave me 7 tops from a plant i grew out in a flower tray. I was trying to top it, but in the end i learned it was a Fim which gave me the nice plant. The pic's are the purple. And the pic's were about a month apart.

Tip; avoid making a trail, sounds obvious but you'd be surprised how ez it is to pick up your path. Growing with LST is smart for other reasons; you can service areas of the plant/tree without a ladder, adding flowers and such helps blend into the surroundings. When I do larger spots I make a false trail to some crapola bagseed fems to allow rippers a moment of sucess, lol. Many rippers in popular areas, scout for you as you enter the woods etc and trail ya so keep a look out. Doubling back every once in a while. Yeilds are 10-15% better and mold/insect loss is lower. As its ez to spray/examine all areas. Peace Bad...
