I know this answer varies, and I also know to use the search, as I did I found nothing that relates.

Well I'd recommend getting your card if your in a med state. Then you could ease your mind a bit :joint:.

But if not... I here alot of people say running 2-3k flower is safe. And being really stingy with electricity in the rest of the house helps too :good:.

I live in a typical middle/lower class home that is less then 1500sqft with 3 baths... want my address so you can look it up? here look this one up, its similar 1296 Clairhaven Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

i grow in an attic and i run 3600w plus two t-5's that are about 300w ea that brings me to 4200w... then in winter i run a heater that kicks on at about 1500w... and in summer i run a 36k btu window AC that runs about 3000w ..... so at peak im running about 7000w.... just for my grow room - not counting rest of house with TV, central air, lights, washer, dryer, and all the other doohickys....

been doin it for going on a year and a half now...

i pay my bills oN TIME... automatic withdrawal... always keeep $$ in my account...

i live in constant paranoia that they are eventually going to catch on to me (this is longest i have grown in the same spot)....

I guess I will find out when I move or get busted if they check electrical bills or not...

If I wasn't in a med state, I'd be all over those LEDs. You'll be fine with what you're runnin though. Just don't give any other indicator than a high power bill.

My scene could be better. Running 1200 watts puts my use up enough that my electric bill includes a notice that my usage has moved me into a high use category. 800 watts doesn't do this. I don't think this attracts attention but it's disconcerting. My house has electric stove, water heater, clothes dryer, and an older refrigerator. Obviously I need to change appliances to gas in order to reduce my electricity consumption. I was actually thinking of unplugging the refrigerator this winter (keep food on back porch) but that's where I keep my seeds!

planning on (4) 600's flower. (1) 250 HO-T5 veg. various fans, heat, cool, pumps ect.

so about 2500w for flower on 12/12 x .10c/kw = $90 /month
and 250w for veg on 24/0 x .10c/kw = $18 /month
and 50w for clones on 24/0 x .10c/kw = $ 3.60/month
and 600w for various on 24/0 x .10c/kw = $42.20/month
lets say an extra 500w or so for give or take purpose
500w 24/0 x .10c/kw = $36/month

TOTAL/month = $189.80

total of around 3900 watts of which 2500 are on 12/12 and 1400 on 24hrs

by this hypothetical logic, do you think hypothetically I'd be in the clear?

for growing hypothetical vegetables without harassment from terrorists thinking It could be something else?

Wow, thanks for that much info.

I hear 1k/bedroom often, but I swear one time I saw it, what was said was "1k/bedroom if the house is just for growing and you don't live there," meaning the real amount that can go unnoticed is considerably less.

And running about 1500W flower + ~200-400 veg & mum, I know my electric bill is a bit high. Almost certainly higher than everyone on the block, maybe twice as many. So the thought of 2400-3000 flowering is like, uh yeah not a chance.

So every person who can testify to running more in a specific amount of residential space, well I guess that enables us all to aim higher.

But it also really seems dependent on location. Some are known to be way ok (Cali), some way not ok (Florida). But others it's hard to find, if power usage is an often used metric for local busts.

<$200/month, if it were me I'd be just a hair nervous, but not too much. Probably be fine.

One thing you could consider, run 18/6 or 20/4 instead of 24/0. Cut down a little. And personally, I think my plants do better with 18/6 than 24/0.

PAY YOUR OK

Steal and your toast

Most get caught because they steal the power. I have been growing for a long time state legal in 2 states. I pay all my bills before there due or when there due. Auto pay is great to use.

ive found other research on other forum that say if I register under a commercial account for electricity, I,E. a welding name or better, a website or game server where i "have multiple 600w power supply computer game/website servers running 24/7 your more likely to be overlooked. What is your ICMAG opinion on that? I feel really comfortable at the hypothetical watt level so far.

It would be a good precaution if it werent for the fact that you would have to pay some tax money from the income of your hypothetical business to make it look real. That could actually backfire at you, having the tax-guys come to talk to you about tax-cheating.
