foxfarms ocean forest for newly rooted clones?

Hi, I have a few quick question. I have clones in rockwool cubes that are just starting to root. After the roots are big enough, can I put the clones in fox farms ocean forest soil? If not, which fox farms soil do I buy? I see theres a few different types of fox farms soil, is one for flower and one for veg or something? Thanks.

yes that will be fine. OF is not god for seedling's. But clones will be fine. U want Happy frogg or Light Warrior for sedlings or small plants. . These are there 3 commercial lines that are the most popular

as long as it's not a really nutrient sensitive strain, it will thrive... But like others have said, a soil with less "heat" than ffof is a lot better for seedlings...

Never had a problem plugging rooted clones straight into FFOF. Even my white widow which is my most sensitive strain.

My sativa strain didn't like it at full strength-just alittle tip burn. I've been mixing it 50/50 with Light Warrior, then adding about 30% perlite with good success. Then when I transplant to the final pots I just use FF with 30% perlite. GL

What they all said:

FFOF is a little hot, you might burn your girls a little depending on strain.

IMO Happy Frog is the best if you want to use the same stuff from beginning to end.

I use FFHF and add 10% perlite, some sea kelp algamin and great white and from clone to harvest in same container.

Thanks guys. How does this sound. After my clones root, I put them into 3-5 gallon pots and veg them for a month. During veg, which fox farms nutes/additives should I use if I want good root development, thick stems and branches? Then when I flower, it will be in the same soil, what do I use from this point on?

it can be strong on some

so as everyone says, if its not nute sensitive, go for it, if it's sensitive, well you can burn it a little or you can cut it with pro-mix or someone other peat product, or if your into it, coco

Don't put a freshly rooted clone in that big of a container. While Vege is time to grow a healthy root structure, if you have a softball size root mass in a 5 gallon bucket, your gonna have moist soil rotting away all the goodies that it's got in it!

Baby steps, I put rooted clones into either .5L or 1L (depending on my mood and how fast I want them to grow, root restriction will slow a stretchy strain down (important if your dealing with plant count issues))

Then I'll bump to 1 gallons at around 8-10" height, and 3-5G "Smart Pots" at around a 1.5-2'

I try to wait a week after up potting to move to flower (reduces stress) but haven't had any issues making the change right after the up pot.

I also LST my girls during they're vege time and when they go to flower they're caged in under a screen!

All the bondage is a bit abusive,... but they love me for it! ;)

Lookin good....the mix is super simple...you can use it from seed to flower it just doesnt need the dry ferts (peace of mind) early on.....Watering is the Key to this mix...overwater and youll see all sorts of weird "nute def" poppin up....let it dry completely and the probs disappear......the Current mix goes a lil sumthin like this...

(bag of each)
Ocean Forest
Planting Mix (guano/castings)
Light Warrior
Black Gold
Coco Brick(small brick)
1 cup peace of mind (for flower)
2- 5 gal buckets worth of perilite....

And the LARGE Chunky Perilite...RULES....small perilite packs down over time ...the large perilite creates huge air pockets for the roots to grow through....over the last 3 yrs anytime I have gone back to the small diameter perilite my plants SUFFER and yeilds diminish.....You have to try the stuff to understand and even then you may not comprehend (like me) the benefits the large core peri makes.....great stuff....

Romulator has been usin my mix for a couple of yrs now and he is like me always tinkering and tweakin the mix...but in the end its the core 3 bag fox farm mix that makes this shit work....

my only "additives" Id tell anyone to try would be "Fish Mix" from biobizz for a lil boost in veg and Advanced Nutes "Moter Earth Super Tea" for a lil boost on day 25-30 for LARGE plants ......But honestly the mix dont need nuthin....

Keep up the good work.....

yea you definately wanna cut your FFOF with a little LW or HF...but i have grown in straight FFOF with no problems except a little burn on the tips...my plants love the FFOF/LW/HP/perlite mix though, got way more stank and resin once i switched...one thing i noticed in straight FFOF is nitrogen over fertilization. my buds were always dark green, same with friends that use straight FFOF. after mixing now i get that nice light green color that everyone loves...

i agree that its the CORE 3 bag mix...lots of people have their tweaks, adding bone meal, kelp, etc, but the core mix is the FFOF, light warrior and some chunky perlite. awesome mix, low risk of nute burn, plants always lush and green, awesome sticky frosty buds...
