question about kool-bloom

we are growing in waterfarms, canna nutes... we are feeding at around 450ppms (according to our nutrawand),our well water shows no ppms, and a ph of 6.0, so we add a few drops of ph down to reduce the ph to 5.5/5.6. the ppms stay around the 450 level, and the ph usually goes up around .1 per day, so in 3-4 days when we need to refill, the ph is around 6/6.1... and we start again

normally about 3 weeks before harvest, we use pk 13/14 ..once.. and the ppms spike to around 7/750 for a day or two, before dropping to 600/550 by the 3/4th day.

this time we used kool-bloom, one tsp per gallon, and the ppm's spiked to 900/1000, and here it is 4 days later, and they are still at around 800...

is this normal???... we did add plain (ph'd) water yesterday , but it did not reduce the ppms... any ideas??

Way to much koolbloom if your talking about the powder. The liquid koolbloom is meant to be used all throughout flowering from beggining of flower to the end at around 1 to 2 teaspoon per gallon depending on if your using soil or hydro and how big/strong the plants are. The dry koolbloom is added as a finisher/hardner for the last few weeks at NEVER more than 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. They are both VERY concentrated and it will take some hearty eating plants to handle full strength.....

And yes, both products will spike your PPM depending on how much you add. Liquid koolbloom will raise your PH and powder will drop the PH...FYI.

You should be fine I get my ppm up to 1600 on a couple strains. Is the koolbloom liquid or powder? Usually I use the powder a week before i start my flush and the liquid from transition to aggressive bloom. Hope this helps !

we are using the powder... and F U K... 1600... holy shit... we are growing some of rez's chemdog,strawberry and sour diesel, and mr nices ssh... anything over 450ppms (on a nutrawand), we find that a day/two later the ppms are rising, so to our way of thinking the plants is taking up more water then nutes. if we keep it around 450, and the ph at 5.5/5.6, in a couple few days the ppm's are steady at 450, and the ph has risen to 6.0/6.1 which is suppose tobe good for the plants as they take up diff nutes/minerals at diff ph's... or so we were told... is this correct... we are still pretty new at hydro

our tapwater comes out of the faucet at 6.0, and no discernable ppms register on the nutrawand...

i see other people talking similar ppms of 1500/1600, and it gets me thinking that either our nutrawand is faultly, or the correlation of drinking an equal part of water/nutes is false...

very confused...:confused::confused:

we got the 1 teaspoon per gallon of kool-bloom powder off rez's site... 'the receipe'... but i do see now that he is growing in coco, so maybe coco can take a more concentrated dose??

Yeah Im hand watering every other day and i find if i try to over dilute the nutes my plants start to show deficencies. Also there are 2 ppm scales on most wands,are u using the 500 or 700 scale ?I use the 700 scale, in veg i never take the ppm above 1000 and most strains cant handle anything above 1400 blooming

It all depends on your formula you can have tap that is 600 ppm and add 750 ppm of floranova be sitting at 1350 and pretty much nothing will burn.
