Bud doesn't burn clean?

Just had a harvest, the bud is dried and cured but does not burn cleanly. Ash does not burn white, more of a charred black. In a joint the joint will just go out and refuse to light unless u like pick off the charred black ash off the end of it.

Is this a result of a nutrient problem? Or did this plant need a longer flush?

2 major reasons 1- too much phosphorus caused by : 2- brand of nutes used/not enough flush

So it's either too much phosphorus or it needed a longer flush? I thought I remembered reading something similar about phosphorus. How the heck do you know if you're feeding it too much?

Yea mate, not enough of a flush. Is the smoke harsh too? Gutted, come all that way and screw it right at the end. Lesson learned though. Good flush is allways essential.

The plant should be dying by the time you pull her. Most Leaves have turned Brown/Yellow. If the plant is still vibrate green keep flushing. Timing for the flush is critical. If you have a 10 week strain you should start flushing at 8 weeks. There should be plenty of nutrient's in the soil for her to suck up in those 2 weeks IMO

why do you ask about coco? thats what i am looking to use next

I don't want to discourage you from using coco, but a couple members here have been having the same problem as you with coco... I really don't know what could be causing it other then flushing time...

i had this happen to me for the first time when I was smoking some weed from a friend the other day. The exact thing you described, ash was black and the blunt kept going out. I guessed right when I said it wasn't flushed properly, glad I found this thread!

2 possibilities:

1) You no flush enough.

2) You use Advanced Nutrients.
