What's new

new growth cupping leaves & dark green waxy

They look exactly like a reveg plant as its trying to grow out normal leaves again.

The shape the leaves take during this is a fibonacci shape, like snails amongst many other things.

I dont think they are re-veg plants mate! from what i can gather they rooted & were growing normally untill they were repotted into the promix, i agree on the serration-less features & single leaves, but they aint re-veg from what i can gather, & those trait can be strain specific i believe, a few strains spring to mind that do that anyway, regardless of when the cut was taken(within reason of course). I can see why alot of peeps are sayin this though, as its a common feature with re-veged plants, yes!

I have gotten the same thing, more than once.............they will be fine if you leave them alone and carry on with your normal routine. Can't really tell but i see nothing wrong with the plant/s but reveg.Do as you wish but i bet if you leave one alone you'll see for yourself....with that 1 plant.

Thanx everybody ....this is not reveg .... it is way past the reveg stage . it was growing nicely .... until i repotted them from mini hempys to 2 gallon grow bags of promix & perilite . this has something to do with that fact or environmental ... like heat or water stress . i just flushed them with PHed water @ 5.8 until i got runoff .. now the runoff is a PH of 6.4 & the ppms are 1320 . ppms are taken with a chinese ppm meter ... not sure cuz theres no markings but i;m pretty sure its a .7 conversion . tested it with a freinds meter (hanna) 7 its pretty accurate @.7 with his pen .

i flushed today with phed RO @ 5.8 going to let them dry out & do this 1 more time then drop the Maxi feedings to about half strength.
now should i feed everytime i water or every other time ? with hempys i was feeding everytime & it works great ... not sure on the promix but was figuring it was like the hempys as it has no nutes in the promix so feeding everytime was good ....NO ?
i have to go to work now & will get back to this in the morning ..... guys thank you so very much in trying to help .... just frustrated ... it seems like everytime i try to step things up ..... something fucks with me .

Do you have a pic of the entire plant?I see no 5 fingered leave in the above pics. These are 3 weeks you said from rooting off of a 2 week flowering plant?

Sounds like your on the right path bro. EC 1.8, 1320ppm on a .7con, promix-bx comes with added nutes btw buddy! but they(promix) recommend feeding start after 1 week, if you check that link from promix i put up, what it says.
Ive never used promix, but i know alot of peeps use it, cant think of a promix thread, maybe start your own, people will soon advise on that one.

from scroggerman ;

looking at your plants im seeing a couple of problems.

Were your plants rooted & growing normally before you re-potted them into the promix?.. yup doing great ... thats why i transplanted them
This is a reason why people are mentioning the re-veg(understandably), but the way i took it was your plants were growing normally before you repotted them. Is that right?... yup
if it is it aint nothing to do with taking cut 2 week into bloom(before commencement of flowers), ive done it many times with no problems, but it aint ideal & i didnt havent to wait 2-4 weeks for a re-veg either.(rooted normally 7-10 days without fail).

Big Wits sugestions of a leach etc are cool, pretty much the way id go. But i would definately be irrigating to Run-off, just so you can check EC/PH etc & see what the plant requires next. Its gonna be difficult to overwater that promix bx id of thought, its full of perlite(+ you added the Chunky perlite on top 25%).yes i did

I wouldnt panick anyway mate, i think they'll come round, but imo you should be checking your run-off EC & PH numbers, do you understand how checking run-off works? read up on that i would. Its the only way to get an idea of plant requirements!

scrogger , stress test , witty & everybody else here ... thank you ! with all your input i will get this figured out . right now i'm just flushing them with RO ph'd @ 5.8 . tested the runoff ... ppms are 1320 & ph was 6.4 ..(scrog ...would like to hear your take on this ) going to let them dry a couple days then hit them with just water again before feeding any nutes. gotta get some decent calmag .... the bonticare was a bad bottle & the general organic brand you have to use right away or it turns to crap in the water ...ask me how i found out ...:( . is 1 tsp of calmag per gallon enough or should i be adding 2tsp ?

my water is in a good range now ... RO at 20ppm & PH @ 7.1
my nutes are Maxibloom (lucas ) @ 1tsp per gallon .... usually comes out @ around 850ppm & drops the ph into the mid 4's so i use GH brand ph up (am looking for an alternative to the liquid up .... like protekt or silica blast ) thats with nothing else in the mix . now when i added the GO calmag @ 1 tsp per gallon my PH stayed pretty much the same but my ppms went up to 1000 or 1100 . only used the calmag in my feeding ....ONCE .haven't used it sense ... as amartter of fact i haven't used any nutes on the promix plants at all sense i started this thread 2 days ago .
now let me say this ....my nutes haven't changed in the last 2 grows ... & have been very succesful . my water when i moved into this place (feb 1st this year ) was found to be very hard ... it took me about 3 weeks & a thread here in the infirmary to get that straightened out but i did & things were recovering very nicely .... & still are . the 8 plants i have in the flower room ( in 2 gallon & 1 gallon hempys ) are doing great . i have 4 clones in mini hempys advancing nicely . i took 5 of my OG kush clones (3 weeks in ) & transplanted them into 4 2 gallon grow bags (plastic) & 1 was put in a 1 gallon square pot ( to be kept as a mom ) after 3 days in the promix (promix bx & 25% chunky perilite nothing else ) i seen the new growth started looking weird .... curling & stunted ... the plants slowed down on their growth & got dark green & waxy looking . which inspired this thread . now i see deficiances . leaves turning colors & some spotting .

i was thinking ph issues cuz of the difference between hempys & soil but promix is not soil ..... so i'm fuckin lost !!! environment ..... maybe but i doubt it . temps are good ... ventilation is good .... humidity is a little low at 30% but thats not too bad .

i dunno guys .... i'm ready to chuck the fuckin promix & go back to hempys . but didn't want to keep moms in hempys.

i'm tired from a long night @ work , baked & got a fuckin headache from all this thinking . sorry for the rambeling on this morning but this should give ya better idea about my situation here .
And again guys thank you for letting me pic your brains !!

growem green & stay safe ..... Dan

thanx scrogger . you must have been posting while i wrote this novel this morning LOL.

so the 1320 & 6.4 are a good range for runoff ???
my understanding on nutes in the promix is they're micro nutes .... didn't think it would be near enough to sustain the plants or lead to overnuting if fed with something other than water ..... thats what i get for thinkin huh ??? so a good flush & slow feeding for awhile should be a decent remedy here ???
there is a promix thread but doesn't get into detail about what nutes are in it . its mainly how folks are using it & amending it for thier personal needs .

When ever i used to toss just rooted cuts into plain promix it would only be about a week before they showed signs that they needed to be fed,so the amount of nutes in it have got to be very very little.I've left a few alone to suffer(always take way more cuts than needed)and to see just how far they'd go in the PM without some feeding.

Another thing that makes me stick to the reveg thing is i have seen nothing online that resembles what you are dealing wit.....except reveg.Have not seen anything like yours that were related to feedings or medium. Those crazy little twisted up leaves....have always just dried and shriveled up as the plant got farther along throughout veg.

Hopin ya get things straight.....i know the frustration.

dude i hope your right !!! but i don't think so . my light sched hasn't changed the plants were at least 2 weeks out of reveg as far as i could tell & one of the main reasons i transplanted . but we'll see what happens in the next week or so & hopefully your right & they just revegged again . dunno
thanx for your thoughts & help fladankster

4 of the 5 are showing new growth that looks normal again ... not so dark green & many of the fans are 3 & 5 leaf fans not the single curled ones.
still haven't fed them yet , watered 3 days ago & they are drying so prolly tomorrow or the next i'll give them some nutes again .
thanx again guys & i'll get some pics up later .

This is utterly normal revegetation. Don't change anything, it's fine! It will be a couple more weeks before the plant structure really starts improving, though, and I would expect a big hedge to result because it seems to stay stunted in vertical growth while it grows a crown of primordial branches from that stub of a stem. Here was mine:

If you're that concerned about the curling (which seems mostly a cosmetic issue but also like it would lengthen the time it takes to reveg) I would seriously halt feeding completely. It appears to be a sign of overfeeding, specifically Nitrogen. You could also try backing off the light to reduce how much growth the plants are trying to make. Too bad I didn't save middle pictures, but I had plenty of curled growth for a little bit when the plants were adjusting to a rich soil from the standalone rockwool cloning cubes. I think perhaps using clones from smaller branches versus larger branches would make a big difference here.

I know exactly what you're talking about cuz I have exactly the same thing going on with my SOG right now. I took cuts in two waves, and the older cuts all got dark green, waxy, with a lot of curling and oddly shaped leaves and much more branching. Two weeks into 12/12 (I've always thought it was an 8 wk strain but I think it might be 9 wk) and I just took a shitload of cuts and trimmed a shitload more. This strain stretches for about 24 or 25 days so I hope they fill out a good bit. They're kinda skinny ATM.

Anyway, if I start seeing this Christmas tree look every time, I might seriously think about moving away from a true SOG and growing a bunch of little bushes. If they're going to be really squat and bushy I might as well adapt to it and try something a bit different. Or maybe I should have trimmed them after 1 wk, to encourage more vertical growth? I guess I have to wait and see what they do over the following 7 days.

I have adult plants that never develop all 5 fingers of the leaves. Some strains, pheno's or cuts never do after cloning. I have one mother plant that was grown from seed that only grows 1 and 3 fingered leaves but her clones develop 5.

I'm having the same probs with my OG Kush the leaves are curling upwards as though its heat stress or wind burn whilst none of the other strains are doing it. Its a mystery as I'm using the same set up and never had this problem before.

This has to be an OG Kush trait. Because my kandy kush (ogkush x trainwreck) is doing the same exact thing.
