Owsley made this geeky, glasses wearing freak's high school years much more bearable, you will be missed BUT not forgotten.

R.I.P.:gday:

The contributions this man made to sound and the collective group mind cannot be measured he will be missed in so many ways. He is a modern day Bodi Sitva no one man can claim to have had such an instant profound influence on so many, not even Jesus imo. Thank you Bear for what you have given us. Think Im gonna go ingest a few hundred mics tonight in his honor.

I am sure this site is letting us keep this thread but under very tight watch and controls. I have mentioned acid in chat and was told to change the subject. I would love to see a thread where people talk about their first acid trip. For anyone that has tried it knows, it was an awakening.

Having done Owsley's LSD, I am sad to hear of his passing.... may he have a safe and expanding travel through the cosmos.

Respect to the amount of windows you've opened in your days Stanley. Travel safe.

last night Phil and Furthur was playing in NY
they played teases of Sunshine without Sugar Mags
they never do that

I was at the String Chees Incident Winter Carnival show playing here in CO
things were fucking freaky
I was spun, everyone was spun,
there was a Bear in the clouds in my mind
I saw the Bear
this morning I read the news

We're all still spinning now, I'm on Fire tonight

we'll all meet again

it's been done in the past. there was an awesome B.O.E.L. thread here, that was active until last year. but they really cracked down. I think it might still be in the archived section. everyone knows how much this molecule has shaped all of our lives. even the mods know. and I'm sure they know you can't talk about the man without aknowledging what he did for us and the world. Just don't be too loosey goosey with the language, and we won't have this memorial thread censored or locked or deleted. :comfort:

I first took Owsley acid when it was still legal, it did open my mind and changed my life.
That said, remember that Owsley was the messenger and not the message.

I'm glad all of the old timers are coming out to pay their respects that were there in the beginning.

I want to let you know that the message lives on. I'm 26. The younger generation gets it. it's not a massive sweeping effect across the country like the 60's, but it's alive. I see the faces humbly paying homage to Albert Hofmann and Bear very regularly at shows. The clandestine labs, and cogs in the system are just as dedicated now to spreading the message and changing lives. anyone that holds the message and spreads it, knows they have the potential to give thousands of people THAT life changing experience. it's not about stacking cash, it's about spreading love.

I'm sure Bear would agree with this quote:
"I think that in human evolution it has never been as necessary to have this substance LSD ... It is just a tool to turn us into what we are supposed to be" Dr. Albert Hofmann on his 100th birthday
