Help me set up a vertical grow

Hey I got 6 1000 watt lights, and a full basement to grow in. I got all the room I need, but height is about 7 feet tall, thats my only restriction. For the experienced vertical growers, how would you set up a vertical grow room for maximum yield with what I'm working with? This will be a one time grow so even though sog benefits in the long term because of short veg times, it wont matter. I was wondering if doing stadium, circular or tree grows would be best and how big to grow the plants. If I got a good yielding strain dialed in, what should I expect in terms of yield? Thanks.

Can someone tell me what area a 1000 watt light can cover when hung vertically? I wanna know because I was thinking about lining 6 lights up in a row and do a stadium style grow, what would be an ideal size room? I didnt find any info about that but some people have really wide rooms and I dont see how the light can reach that far and still give a good amount of light. Can someone help me out.

Do you have a plant count that you need to work within?

What are your available genetics?

What media are you planning on working with?

How long can you veg for?

If I got a good yielding strain dialed in
seems in conflict with
This will be a one time grow
Do you have outside support?

Do what is your experience level?

What is your budget?

What is your weather like?

Do you have a plan on venting?

Do you have a plan on odor filtration?

Search out Selfhemployed for a sick stadium that slayed it terms of yield...

Hi, thanks for taking your time to help me. I dont have a plant limit, I'd like to keep it low as possible without sacrificing yield. If it means that I have to grow 200 small plants in a sog or something for best yield, I'll have to. But if I can get the same with 40 larger plants, I'd rather go with 40. Right now, I got master kush, og kush, bubba kush, headband, bubble gum, and granddaddy purple. All are cuttings, but I only have 20 total. I can get more if I need them. I'm planning to veg as long as I need to, whatevers best for a 1 time harvest. They will either be going into 5 gallon hempy buckets or 5 gallon soil. I have outside support but I'd rather do this on my own. I've been growing on and off for about 10 years now but this is my first time going vertical and I'm more familiar with hydro than soil. The distance people keep the plants from the light is what confuses me. The plants are so far away from the bulb but still get big, dense nugs. Maybe I'm not getting something. I dont have a budget but since I'm not going hydro, I dont see it costing much. I plan on venting the air outside or out the grow room into the basement. Temps and odor arent a concern. How would you set up a grow room with what I have? How much area can a 1000 watt light cover? Thanks bro.

Google "Heath Robinson grow" youll be happy you did.
Thanks, I will be doing that.

Boodha;

Check this old link of Heath Robinson, this is a inside measurement of 4 x 6 that will hold 84 plants, drain to res system with duel reservoirs (he explains it) and ONLY running 2 600's...guess how much weight he pulls with this;

.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... oh yeah 4.1 POUNDS :faint:yeah baby, this could be considered a square coliseum I guess it's only like 4 to 4.5 feet high (I cannot remember exactly) and very easy to maintain.

This will just give you ONE idea and their are MANY out their, I don't think anyone here will tell you "oh do this type" or "do that type" basicly YOU need to decide what will work best for your environment and specific situation. As far as light distance and lumen's, check out Bobblehead's thread. Recently he posted a VERY interesting chart and explanation on how light effect a vertical setup. I myself am utilizing that information to make some changes to my own vertical situation.

Good luck

boo,

Heath slays the universe. Stupid clever grower that is unmatched.

This is Selfhempolyed's stadium. Also a sick grower, but his garden is stupid easy to replicate. This garden had huge yields. You could imitate his dimensions, and add two or three times the length. He ran sixteen plants.

Sick garden there...

Thanks Imaginaryfriend.

Hey how does something like this look? 12 plants surrounding 5 1000w lights? Grow them to 5-6 feet tall. Can bush/tree grows produce more than sog grows in 1 harvest or is it the same just depends on how you grow it?

You know your space better than I do. If you want to grow stadium I'd really consider matching up with Selfhemployed's build. So simple. So effective.

If you want to grow out trees, that's cool. Vertical lighting tends to encourage some bushing, so getting a plant five to six feet is going to be a combination of genetics and training.

If you can get your hands on another similar quantity of what you already have I'd go two rows high... ten plants per row, two feet apart on center. Top row would be built at media pot size + 18", and flip them when the bottom row's canopy just starts to shade the upper row's pots.

Less veg. No worries about plant shape.

Watering consistency is important. Hand watering 40 plants can be a bitch.

Make sure your venting is up to two volume exchanges per minute.
