Hope something will happen with this bill. We need everyone to write the representatives from all over Florida, especially those mid/north parts of the republican parties.

Contact and tell them you support the bill and give them a reason why. I hope i'm not the only one writing my representatives. A week after writing Rick Scott about this issue I see something proposed.

They are meeting in Tallahassee on the 10th and will be conducting a public hearing on the subject. If you are in the area please go out and give your support. Its already favored by 6 in 10 people, so lets get some of those 6 writing.

Your opinion does matter, this is how it works! It starts with the representatives since your the one voting for them...

If you want to write to them find out who: here

Me to!!! Especially since this is a joint resolution! HJR1407 is what it stands at right now. Everyone in Florida needs to write their reps, it really does makie a difference...

Al Sharpton joining the klan has better odds than this passing. Florida has an average IQ hovering around 9 with a passionate love for baby jesus. They'd sooner hear arguments from scientists talking about evolution than they would hear arguments from scientists saying pot isn't devils lettuce.

They have a huuuuuuuge meth problem and an even bigger legal prescription problem. Every corner in most of the state you can go to an "anti aging clinic" and get legal steroids.

Florida is the biggest human disappointment in the United States in my opinion. I love the humid weather, the amazing beaches, the fishing, the incredible natural beauty, yet I'd never step foot there and give them my vacation dollars. It's easily the most illiterate and backwards spec of land in North America. That state supports and represents, and really encapsulates, everything wrong with the United States in my opinion. Just shockingly dumb, anti-intellectual, anti-science, pro-religious zealotry with a military industry complex to boot.

Google "Germany or Florida" for a hilarious game Adam Corolla plays. To quote Sir Adam "Whenever I fly over Florida, I know it instantaneously. I literally feel dumber mid-air."

Not to bust your bubble man...but have you ever been to Alabama? I was born and raised in FL and I'll bet you a lb of dank my IQ is higher than yours (not that it even matters). I went to one of the best schools in the US that only accepts people in the upper 2 percentile on the IQ range, and there were tons of those all around FL. Just because the state's government is full of ready to retire republicans doesn't mean we are all mentally disabled.

I don't mean to be rude, but that was a really really dumb comment. Please show a little respect.

Tallahassee has a HUGE amount of NORML support. some of my best friends go to FSU, the capitol is literally a quarter of a mile from campus. NORML has people out getting signatures for petitions at EVERY event. trust me man, if we want change, it's gonna happen eventually.

It's ignorant thoughts like that which piss me off. From the sound of it you are not a resident, and most certainly never been to where I live.

To say that our state is the dumbest in the nation isn't far from the truth, but still doesnt make it true. Once you go above 30*N you get into the part of Florida that is ultra-conservative and backwards in your mind. Up until that invisible border your in an extension of New York...

Well the reps are meeting tomorrow and wish i could make it up to Tallahassee for the vote. Hopefully between NORML and SSDP we can make our point, and let the reps give us the right to choose. I've written all my officials...Have you?

glad to hear sumthin is happenin but the bill isnt the greatest
it says leo and gov can overrule ur script :noway: it doesnt state anywhere that a patient can cultivate there own medicine

almost sounds like a good bill for a company to monopalize the market in fl when we get 1
pufmm's bill is better for the ppl

ill still do my thing regardless but that bill is very vauge and leaves alotta room for leo/gov to still fuk ppl over

1 good thing in there tho was the part about them not being able to confiscate ur property if found not guilty thru med :good:

also Thingshappening for some 1 who hasnt been here you have a fuckd up view of fla
we dont support our gov they just make sure u have a felony by the time ur 18 so u cant vote against them ya know "supress the youth with a felony so u can win with the elderly"
meth isnt the huge problem down here compaired to the rest of the US yea there is a script prob tho
and the only reason people would get dumb thru here is if they say sum stupid shit like u did and get there shit beat stupid :bat:

FL is quite possibly the least 'southern' state in the south - and in fact, the more north you go in that state, the more 'southern' it becomes.

Its easy to be ignorant when you sit atop a chair of guestimation. FL has a high retiree population that's dying daily. Miami, to this day still houses top shelf product.

FL is a visceral paradise, obviously not without it's faults. You will see worse atrocities against the cause being committed in places like Texas though.

wow, alot said from someone quoting Adam Corolla. it only takes the mental capacity of a horny 14 yr old to comphrend anything he has done.

and just by watching and quoting him your I.Q. has dropped 20 pts., points you can't afford to lose.

I hope Florida does lighten up though, They have some pretty strict laws dealing with cannabis there.

All the polls I've seen range from 57% to 65% in favor of legalization for medical purposes.

That is encouraging, however our legislature is extremely conservative. I can think of at least one senate member that will be a very vocal critic.

Not to mention our governor, who has heavy ties to big pharma.

What the measure does have going for it is the people will get to vote on it (if it passes the legislature) and it is something the legislature can feel good about taxing. Right now they are all about cutting taxes, but the state needs revenue badly. This is something they could tax heavily and still feel good about.

The fact it has not been shot down already is amazing.

The main reason I got into growing is the 20g thing. They're pretty much telling us if your gonna have personal smoke, you might as well grow 25 plants. When they say 25lbs they mean plant, roots and all. Jeff Clemons is also for decriminalization.

Back to the subject. The main thing is to get a bill we can work with. Rome wasnt built in a day, but by having a bill in there to work off of is great. We can always go back and make ammendments to a bill, but for a bill to go up to the populus vote it has to go through the whole process again. I think Cali's idea of waiting for a proper bill as the wrong choice, so i'm hopign we make the right one here. This is why i'm giving out as much support as I can to this bill. Especially since I finally found out why i'm always in pain; Fibromyalgia....

Regarding cultivation it says that patients can have up to the maximum legal limit of bud/plants allowed(Set by LEGISLATION, not LEO) unless prescribed more by a doctor. The main thing is, this does not change the legality of marijuana, it just gives a defense/protection in court shall the case arise.

LEO may not destroy or get rid of any of your things until after the court trial, in case you are medical. HJR 1407 will help give us a start here in the South, exactly what we need.

We have such a large percentage of "For" due to the seniors and people with debilitating diseases who reside down here, not to mention the one guy was prescribed marijuana completely legally.

I've written to all my officials and have gotten some pretty positive responses from most; some haven't written me back. So remember, the most important thing is to contact your officials and tell them your view point. After all they are supposed to represent you. If you dont write them, they will represent themselves.

I'd also suggest writing Jeff Clemens and giving him your thanks, to give support to this ballsy movement.

The bill has now made it to three different committees. This bill is flying along so far, probably from the proper support. Lets see what happens, keep calling and writing your officials! That's how we got this far.

After I got off the phone with the house speaker for Florida HJR1407 was recommended. This is coming from a Republican representative also in the middle of Florida. Glad to see its movement...
